00:09attorney for New Lee, the Negro watchman held in connection with the Mary Fagan case,
00:13would take steps to release him from jail by swearing out a writ of habeas corpus.
00:19Attorney Chappell is said to have come to the conclusion that Lee knew nothing about the case
00:23other than finding the body and that the state has no right to hold him.
