00:00All right, we are almost back home from our Christmas journey and on the way home we are
00:07starving. So we decided to stop in Gainesville super quick to get something to eat. Timber just
00:13woke up so she's in the car. She's going to come in but she had to kind of get her
00:17shoes on and
00:17stuff and behind us is BJ's Restaurant and Brewery and we just searched on the phone found it looked
00:26like a good place. It does have a pretty large gluten-free menu so we decided to stop and give
00:32it a try. Let's go check it out. It's also freezing right now. It's so cold. I think I looked
00:44and it
00:44said it was 40 degrees. So we are freezing. Going to run inside. Going to check the hours. Now open
00:51late. So I wonder how late late is. They also have takeout. It says brew house, restaurant,
01:00BJ's. Come over here and look at the happy hour. It says restaurant hours Sunday through Saturday
01:0511 a.m. to midnight. And then here are their happy hour items. It looks like they've got a little
01:11outdoor seating area with some heaters on which they definitely need. And then we can go through
01:15this revolving door. Right in here. And this is where we will get seated. I still have a Christmas
01:23tree. That's what it looks like on the inside. It looks really nice in here. You can see this is
01:31what the bar looks like. They've got some TVs up there. And this is what it looks like on the
01:38inside.
01:39And then over to the right over here where you can do takeout are the restrooms. Nice bar though.
01:44So here are some of their daily specials.
01:52On the very far wall over there are all of their brews. And we're actually going to get
01:57seated. Right this way. Right here. Sweet. Let's have a look at the menu. We have shareable appetizers.
02:08Do they have a barbecue tri-tip slider? It sounds pretty good.
02:16There's some chicken wings.
02:21Looks like they got some good sauces. Snacks and small bites.
02:29If we turn the page. We've got steaks and slow roasted favorites.
02:41Chicken and slow roasted sandwiches.
02:46Loaded burgers.
02:48And then over here we have specialty entrees.
02:55And if you see the GS they've got gluten sensitive items.

03:08And you can see down there.

03:12And then on the back we have deep dish pizzas and world famous pizza cookies.
03:19That's hard to say.
03:21But I noticed down here they have gluten free thin crust.

03:31I don't know which one I'm going to get but that's the most I've ever seen.
03:38Oh there's a look at the menu.
03:39They've got a lot.
03:40Over here they have the beer menu.
03:43Which I'm going to go kind of quick on this because there's so many.

03:52Sometime I want to come and try some of these.

03:54The issue is that we're tired so I don't want to have any alcohol tonight.

04:07But like I said since we are driving and we've been in the car for over seven hours.

04:54Now I did ask about all these teas and lemonades.
04:56And I ended up going with, I guess it's an Arnold Palmer.
04:59It's the Sunset Peach Tea Lemonade.
05:03She said the Sunset Peach is just like sweet tea with the syrup.
05:08I didn't know which one to choose though because there's a lot of options.
05:10So the lavender lemonade sounds good.
05:15The Peach Berry Iced Tea.
05:17Ooh, I probably would have got that.
05:18Maybe I can substitute some out.
05:19I'm not sure.
05:20But they all sounded very good.
05:22And then if we're looking at the dessert.
05:25Gluten-free chocolate chip.
05:29I will say their menu is very good.
05:32I think I want to try a pizza here though.
05:34It sounds really good.
05:36Although they do have a lot of good looking options.
05:40So Timber's going to get the Enlightened Kale and Roasted Brussels Sprouts Salad.

05:47I think I do want to try a pizza.
05:52Might try the gluten-free crust just to see what it's like.
05:55But it looks like maybe that's only one size.
05:58But it is thin crust.
06:01It's always fun to try their regular pizza though too.

06:35And then just the house salad.
06:36It is pretty late-ish.
06:39So don't want to just stuff ourselves.
06:42But man, everything sounds good.

06:48Alright, I think I'm going to do the chicken bacon ranch.

06:52I ended up going with the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer to try.

07:17I wonder how spicy they really are.
07:19But if you recall from our video in Inverness of the bistro and we said they had the best Brussels
07:25sprouts.
07:26I want to compare these.
07:28So we have those.
07:29And then here's the salad for the soup and salad.
07:32Also, they gave me a pizza stand.
07:34So I'm looking forward to the pizza.
07:35I'm going to dig into these now.
07:37Alright, let's give the Brussels a try.
07:40They have a slight spice to them.
07:42A little spice.
07:43I do not think they're as good as the one in Inverness.
07:46They're not as crispy.
07:48But they are good.
07:50Just I don't think they're quite as good as the ones in Inverness.
07:54So the ones in Inverness are still the best.
07:56But these aren't a bad option either.
07:58A little spicy though.
07:59And here's a look at the pizza.
08:00So it is kind of a pricey pizza for the size.
08:04Essentially it's six slices.
08:05But it is a thick, messy looking pizza.
08:09So you do get a lot of like toppings and stuff on there.
08:11So hopefully it's good.
08:13Because I think it was like $20.
08:16Is this how one of the slices looked?
08:18Now I will say the gluten free said it was thin crust.
08:21So I would have been curious to see what thin crust is like.
08:24Also I have been saying this wrong.

08:32I think the best way to tackle this is to eat it with a fork.
08:35Because I think it's going to be way too messy to do just holding it.

08:50That's got very good taste to it.
08:51Not very crispy on the bottom of the crust.
08:55But I'm going to try the actual like end crust to see.

09:06It's kind of got like a raised air crust or whatever you want to call it.

09:39They have mini versions of it.

09:42But you don't even have to get the trio.
09:43You can even just get one mini pizookie.
09:45Which is what we're going to do.
09:47And one of the flavors is gluten free.
09:49I mean there are so many flavors on there.
09:51So you'll have to go to their website and look.
09:53But it's cool.
09:54You can get a large one or a mini one.
09:56I will say these are very heavy like toppings.
10:00So you can easily share the 11 inch.
10:03Because I've already had just two pieces.
10:06And I'm actually pretty full now.
10:07Two people could easily share the 11 inch.
10:10So we ended up ordering the mini gluten free pizookie.
10:14Alright and here is the gluten free pizookie.
10:19And honestly it took about 12 minutes to get.
10:21So it did take an extremely long time.
10:23But the mini one is about the right size.
10:26Alright let's give this a try.

11:01However, we do have lunch for tomorrow.
11:04So part of that price is another meal for tomorrow.
11:07So divided by two, you're talking about $26 per meal for us.

11:13Next time I come, if I got a pizza, we would just share one like gluten free pizza because that
11:19was plenty.

11:23Alright, that was our trip out to BJ's Restaurant and Brewery here in Gainesville.
11:29We are extremely tired.
11:30I think Timber's probably already asleep right now.
11:32But it honestly was a decent place.
11:35There's a couple negatives.
11:37One, it took like an hour and 15 minutes, which we really didn't want to take that long tonight.
11:40We wanted to get home.
11:41And two, the price, a little pricey.
11:44Um, I'll throw in a third one.
11:46The pizza, it was okay.
11:49Uh, the flavor was very good.
11:50The, the, the crust and stuff was more of like a fluffy crust instead of like a crispy crust.
11:58I would prefer a crispy crust.
12:00Um, and not as many, not as much toppings on top.
12:03Oh, I'm starting to shiver.
12:04It's freezing.
12:05Um, the dessert was fantastic.
12:07It was amazing.
12:09One of my favorite things was the dessert.
12:10And I know Timber's favorite was the dessert.
12:14And, um, overall they had a huge menu.
12:17I'd like to come back and try a few more things.

12:20I am like shivering.
12:21Uh, but anyway, it was a neat little place.
12:25Just be prepared to, it, it does take a little bit.
12:29And also it's a little bit more pricey.
12:31So maybe a special occasion you can come out.
12:33Um, they did have a good alcohol menu if you wanted to do that.
12:36But I'm going to end the video now because I am freezing.
