00:14But starting in 2026, YouTube will implement a more consistent counting standard for public views.
00:20And as soon as the video playback starts, i.e. from fast love, the public view count will be considered.
00:24The engage view metric will continue to be indexed by YouTube
00:27So that the creator can understand how much viewers actually engaged with the contact
00:31Earlier, the rule was to watch the video for 30 seconds to count as a view.
00:35Now the view will be counted as soon as the video starts.
00:37This will increase your views, but this does not mean that just by increasing views your earnings will also increase.
00:42According to YouTube, this change does not alter creator earnings or YPP eligibility requirements.
