00:00At Lockdown, everything's at stake.
00:03The winning, the losing, climbing the mountain to be the best at TNA, maybe ending a career, it's all at
00:10stake.
00:10You can get hurt, or you can go on to greatness.
00:13You're walking that fine razor's edge between disaster and greatness.
00:17At Lockdown, anything can and will happen.
00:21Coming up next on Before the Bell, Lockdown.
00:24No place to go, nowhere to hide.
00:26There could be a table, a chair, a tendo, who knows, barbed wire, anything.
00:32You don't come out of these kind of matches the same way you go in.
00:37My body's destroyed from matches just like these.
00:41The Lethal Lockdown is by far the most dangerous match I've ever been involved in.
00:47It's one of the most violent matches, and being in there with the Clowns and Immortal, I'm very much looking
00:53forward to that.
00:53All the fortune is indeed looking very much forward to that.
00:56You know, these guys think, because they're the heart and soul of TNA, they've been with TNA since day one.
01:00We're world travelers.
01:01We've been everywhere.
01:02You know, we've wrestled all over the world.
01:05We've wrestled all over the country in all different promotions.
01:07And in Lockdown, we're going to show them why, just because they started in TNA and they feel like they're
01:12the heart and soul of TNA, they don't represent TNA.
01:14We do.
01:15The most dangerous match in TNA is definitely Lethal Lockdown.
01:19You can run, you can hide, you can cheat the referees, you can get by, slip on a banana peel,
01:25but in the cage at Lockdown, it all gets taken care of.
01:29There's nowhere to run.
01:30There's nowhere to hide and you only get yourself or your partner to depend on.
01:36This is survival and the fittest at Lockdown.
01:39Lethal Lockdown is a match I've been in numerous times over the last couple of years and it's one of
01:46the most lethal, most dangerous matches in our company.
01:49You're inside of the cage and there's nowhere to go.
01:52There's a top on and you're a caged animal.
01:55Basically what it is, you're fighting for your life.
01:57On April 17th, blood feuds and championships will be settled inside the steel cage.
02:03Sting has a championship belt.
02:06Will that change?
02:07Yes.
02:08Is it going to change the way Mr. Anderson thinks it will?
02:12No.
02:12Normally, when a guy loses the championship, he's the first guy in line to get a rematch, right?
02:20Not this guy.
02:22It's okay though.
02:23You know what?
02:23I'm not going to whine about it.
02:25I'm not going to complain about it.
02:26I'm not going to rock Van Damme about it.
02:28Over the next 30 minutes, we'll take a special look at some of the matches that will headline TNA Wrestling's
02:33most violent pay-per-view of the year.
02:36Kurt and I were married for 12 years.
02:38I met him after the Olympics in 1996.
02:42He was Pittsburgh's golden boy, the all-American dream, what every father would want for their daughter.
02:50Stepped foot into the ring in 1998, and from that point on, everything went downhill.
02:57He went from being an amazing husband to pretty much a piece of a husband.
03:02I was with Karen for 12 years, and now Karen's been with Jeff for a couple years.
03:06And, you know, I don't get to see my kids that often, maybe one time a month.
03:11They live in Tennessee, and I live in Pennsylvania.
03:13A big part of this is going to be revenge, because I'm getting Karen's revenge.
03:19You don't mistreat a princess such as Karen.
03:22At lockdown, the TNA fans are going to get the epitome of violence, performance, and excellence.
03:28The fans that dial in for lockdown, the fans that are sitting at home, the fans in the arena are
03:34going to experience wrestling at the peak, peak, peak of performance.
03:39It doesn't get no better than this.
03:41You're going to find out who's great and who's not so great.
03:44You're going to find out who survives and who dies career-wise.
03:48Lockdown is the place to be with TNA brothers.
03:51This is the game of a lifetime.
03:53TNA presents, Before the Bell, Lockdown.
03:58On April 17th at lockdown, the most personal feud in TNA history will be settled once and for all inside
04:06the steel cage.
04:07The Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle, will face Jeff Jarrett in what will prove to be a war for the
04:12ages.
04:13Both men have made their intentions clear.
04:16This isn't business.
04:17It's personal.
04:20Kurt and I were married for 12 years.
04:22I met him after the Olympics in 1996.
04:27He was Pittsburgh's golden boy, the all-American dream, what every father would want for their daughter.
04:34Stepped foot into the ring in 1998.
04:38And from that point on, everything went downhill.
04:42He went from being an amazing husband to pretty much a piece of a husband.
04:46It was time for me to move on.
04:49So I picked up, I left, and then through that I met the man of my dreams.
04:55After Karen Angle became Karen Jarrett on August 21st, 2010, life for Kurt Angle changed dramatically.
05:03It's hard because, you know, there's a trust factor there.
05:07And, you know, I was with Karen for 12 years, and now Karen's been with Jeff for a couple years.
05:11And, you know, I don't get to see my kids that often.
05:15Maybe one time a month.
05:16They live in Tennessee, and I live in Pennsylvania.
05:19I was a great husband.
05:23And I was an incredible father.
05:32And if I'm guilty of anything, it's the fact that I did not spend enough time with my family.
05:38But that's not because I was a bad father or a bad husband.
05:42It's because I wanted to give my family everything they dreamed of having.
05:47A big part of this is going to be revenge, because I'm getting Karen's revenge.
05:53You don't mistreat a princess such as Karen, such a wonderful woman, a wonderful mother.
06:01You will not steal the joy from our lives for one more day!
06:07Not one more day, Kurt Angle!
06:10I'll never respect Kurt Angle.
06:13Ever.
06:16I don't necessarily trust Jeff and Karen right now.
06:21How could you?
06:22What's most important to me is, you know, doing the best I can for the company and making a living
06:28so I can provide for my kids.
06:31Last week, Karen, when you said it wasn't about me and your new husband, but it was about me and
06:37you, that was a complete lie.
06:40Jeff made this personal when he kept sticking it in my face every single time he could.
06:46Kurt Angle, the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, the father, the husband, well, the ex-husband.
06:55The king of the mountain, Jeff Jarrett, is taking my bride, and now he's taking my pride.
07:00The king of the mountain, Jeff Jarrett, is going to rise up and be the better man, because I want
07:07to stop the misery tonight, Kurt.
07:10Me and you have to coexist for my kids.
07:14Y'all, all three know better than to say that name in this house. Never again. Do you understand?
07:20Yes, sir.
07:21What do you have to say?
07:22Sorry, Dad.
07:23Sorry, Daddy Jeff.
07:25What do you have to say?
07:27Tell Daddy Jeff you're sorry, buddy.
07:29Sorry.
07:32I think Jeff involving my kids was the absolute worst thing he could have done. I think it was horrible,
07:37poor taste. I blame that on Jeff. I blame that on the company. You know, that's something that I have
07:45to deal with, and it's something that I don't want my kids to see.
07:48If there are any reasons why this man and woman should not recommit themselves to each other this evening, speak
07:57now or forever hold your peace.
08:01For Kurt to not to live up to his end of the bargain, it really shows the kind of character
08:09he has. He specifically knew that he had to walk here and down the aisle.
08:17We wanted him there. We wanted him to be a part of it.
08:20Over the past few months, Kurt Angle's rage continued to grow, and on March 17th, he arrived at Impact and
08:27issued a furious challenge.
08:35Jeff, you look at me. Look at me, you son of a bitch.
08:40It is very obvious that Kurt has got himself so worked up.
08:44I am sick of this s**t.
08:47The thing that where I know I've got his number is, is because Kurt's worried.
08:52You and me, one-on-one, and lockdown in a steel cage.
08:57It's either that, or I come find you, and I come find you, and I make your life so miserable,
09:04you won't want to live another day.
09:06Kurt's always been a very confident individual who, for better or worse, always knew he could get it done.
09:12Just the other day, Cody was watching his gold medal performance in the Olympics, and Kurt ran on that amateur
09:18match, and you knew he owned the world.
09:20You could look in his face that there was nothing that was going to stop him.
09:24And you fast-forwarded to 15 years later, and Kurt walks in the ring, and I've got this guy giving
09:32me a guitar. He's out of his mind.
09:36For Kurt Angle to close this chapter in his life, he must defeat Jeff Jarrett on April 17th.
09:42But what if Jeff Jarrett wins? What becomes of Kurt Angle?
09:47I didn't ask for the war. I didn't ask for anything.
09:50Daddy's going to win.
09:52Daddy's going to win. You're right. You're right. And that's the most important thing.
09:56You know, it's not about how much I dislike Jeff or how much Jeff dislikes me.
10:01It's about who the better man is, and whoever wins that match will be the better man.
10:06Kurt's greatest strengths are, quite frankly, his greatest weakness.
10:10He overthinks things at times. His mental focus, he'll lose it, and that's what happened in the February pay-per
10:17-view.
10:18He went for his silly ankle lock one too many times, and just because he wanted to make me tap,
10:24he lost the match.
10:25Nobody's meaner, nobody's tougher, nobody's badder than Kurt Angle, and this is going to be me stepping it up a
10:32notch.
10:33It's well known that I was very instrumental in bringing Kurt to TNA, and it's just amazing to me.
10:42That the lengths that I went to get him to be a part of TNA, and just how ruthlessly he
10:50has tried to do everything he can to shove it up my a**, destroy my life.
10:56Kurt set out to make my husband suffer, tried to put him out of a job.
11:02He had three daughters. We've got five kids together.
11:07Kurt did everything he could to make our lives miserable, so what I have to say to that is paybacks
11:13are a**.
11:15You know, the fact that I asked for this match and the way I asked for it, you know, had
11:20no bearing on Karen, but Karen is a crucial weapon for Jeff, and she's been very crucial in this whole
11:26situation.
11:27Of course I've been a crucial weapon. I know Kurt better than anybody, and of course, yes, I have been
11:33able to get into his head.
11:34For the rest of his life, I will be that woman that will be able to continue to get into
11:40his head.
11:41On April 17th, at TNA Wrestling's most brutal pay-per-view of the year, this personal feud will be settled
11:48once and for all.
11:49Jeff Jarrett battles Kurt Angle inside the steel cage.
11:53I believe that lockdown will be the end of the Angle Jarrett feud because of what I will do to
12:00Jeff.
12:00I don't think that he honestly thinks that he can beat me just because of what's gone on over the
12:08last three or four months.
12:09I expect to break Jeff's ankle if at all costs, if I have to, in that match.
12:17Considered one of the most dangerous matches in professional wrestling, Lethal Lockdown.
12:23The most dangerous match in TNA is definitely Lethal Lockdown.
12:27There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide, and you only get yourself or your partner to depend on.
12:34This is survival and the fittest at lockdown.
12:37The reason Lethal Lockdown is the most dangerous match in TNA is because, first and foremost, you're inside a steel
12:44cage.
12:44And flesh and steel are not meant to go together.
12:48Do you even know the intensity that is involved in that match?
12:52It's four on four, immortal versus fortune.
12:58Its name is synonymous with violence, blood, hell, revenge.
13:04Lethal Lockdown, a brutal spectacle.
13:08Once the ominous structure grabs your attention, it's impossible to look away.
13:12The top of that cage will lower eventually, locking us all in there like a crazed pack of dogs.
13:21You're inside of the cage, and there's nowhere to go.
13:24There's a top on, and you're a caged animal.
13:27Basically what it is, you're fighting for your life.
13:29I'm not afraid of any type of match, but this is a match that is very intimidating, and you know
13:35the consequences when you step through that cage door.
13:37You know there's a possibility this could be your last match.
13:40No place to go, nowhere to hide.
13:43There could be a table, a chair, a tendo, who knows, barbed wire, anything.
13:48You don't come out of these kind of matches the same way you go in.
13:53My body's destroyed from matches just like these.
13:57The Lethal Lockdown is by far the most dangerous match I've ever been involved in.
14:03It's one of the most violent matches, and being in there with the Clowns and Immortal, I'm very much looking
14:08forward to that.
14:09All the Fortune is indeed looking very much forward to that.
14:13Lethal Lockdown is a match I've been in numerous times over the last couple of years, and it's one of
14:19the most lethal, most dangerous matches in our company.
14:23Fortune versus Immortal.
14:25Eight men will battle within the unforgiving steel.
14:28Once the steel roof lowers, there's no escape from the violence.
14:33Oh, when that top comes down on that cage, you can either feel one of two ways.
14:38You could be really freaking excited because you're about to grab a weapon and destroy your opponent, or you could
14:44be crapping a brick about this big.
14:46Once the weapons come into play, there's no telling what can happen, so it's extremely dangerous.
14:51It's like being in the middle of a war, and then all of a sudden you see bomber jets flying
14:55over and they're dropping bombs.
14:56You're thinking, this just went from bad to worse.
14:58This heated rivalry between Fortune and Immortal is a volatile combination that's set to explode on April 17th at TNA
15:07Lockdown.
15:08You know, there's really no better place for retribution against Immortal than in this match.
15:13We have the nature boy, Rick Flair, Bully Ray, Matt Hardy, and yours truly.
15:24The experience lies with us.
15:29And so will the victory at Lockdown.
15:34We have confidence in our team.
15:35I mean, we've been here since day one.
15:37We've proved what we're worth.
15:40And going in this cage, we're going to prove it again that we're the best of the best.
15:44We're the cream of the crop.
15:45Think of if you took two wild animals that are natural enemies and locked them in a cage.
15:51Think of what happens.
15:52The end result is somebody gets hurt badly, and every lockdown, that's what happens.
15:56And I'm certain that this one will be no exception.
15:59Immortal and Bully Ray.
16:02You hurt my friend.
16:03You put AJ Styles in the hospital, and now you're going to pay.
16:07The next time there's blood on my hands, it's going to be Bully Ray's.
16:10I can't wait to get my hands on Rude and Storm and Kazarian.
16:15Frankie's got such a pretty face.
16:17Don't you think he's got a pretty face?
16:18He's entirely too pretty for the wrestling business.
16:21He's smooth.
16:22He's tan.
16:23He's probably one of those guys that shaves his body.
16:25I can't wait to take that pretty little face and rub it up against the cage.
16:31Scar it up so he looks like a man and not like a little boy.
16:35Well, Abyss, you know, that's something I'm not as confident on as I'd like to be.
16:41Because, you know, Abyss has not been around.
16:43And when Abyss is here, he's very dangerous.
16:47But when Abyss is elsewhere and no one's heard from him, who knows what he's doing?
16:53Who knows where he is?
16:55You seem to forget.
16:56But all these ignorant sheep seem to forget what they did to me with Janice.
17:06They buried her into my vertebrae in between my C5 and C6.
17:15Almost paralyzed me.
17:18And at lethal lockdown, I, along with a mortal, am going to exact revenge for every nail that penetrated my
17:32vertebrae that night.
17:35Fortune is going to pay for it.
17:38If you just look at him, he's a walking scar.
17:40The guy just has no regard for his own physical well-being and even less for his opponent's physical well
17:48-being.
17:49Look at my arms.
17:51Look at my body.
17:55I love blood.
17:57I love the way it tastes in crimson-colored red and then warm as it runs down your face.
18:05I love it.
18:06I love the way it tastes when it's going down my throat.
18:11I love the feeling of making somebody else bleed.
18:18And there's no better match in the world to do that in than the lethal lockdown.
18:26Eight men will battle inside a steel cage to settle this feud and answer the question,
18:32who is the driving force in TNA Wrestling?
18:35I've been in every one of those matches except for one.
18:38I know what it takes to survive.
18:40The rest of Fortune knows what it takes to survive.
18:42And that's what we're going to do.
18:44We're going to take what we've learned in the past and put it in this match.
18:47And we will win.
18:49What do you think fans can expect at lockdown?
18:52They can expect violence.
18:54I think at lockdown, you're going to see a very, very physical, very, very personal battle
18:59with the guys that built this company from the ground up being Fortune
19:05against guys that have come in here and expected something,
19:10expected to get something because of what they did elsewhere.
19:14You know, this is a very, very personal battle for all of us.
19:19And I hope they bring their game, man, because this is our life.
19:24You know, this is where we made our name.
19:27We don't have somewhere else to go back to.
19:30Or we don't have, you know, fans from a different place following us in.
19:35This is Fortune's house.
19:38And at lockdown, that cage, inside that cage, that's going to be our lion's den.
19:43And they're coming into our den.
19:44You know, these guys think because they're the heart and soul of TNA, they've been with TNA since day one.
19:48Well, we're world travelers.
19:49We've been everywhere.
19:50You know, we've wrestled all over the world.
19:52We've wrestled all over the country in all different promotions.
19:55And in lockdown, we're going to show them why, just because they started in TNA
19:59and they feel like they're the heart and soul of TNA, they don't represent TNA.
20:02We do.
20:03If the past has anything to say about it, lockdown is one of the best pay-per-views that TNA
20:09has to offer.
20:10And being in Cincinnati, I know there's going to be a rowdy crowd.
20:12There's going to be a lot of beer money fans.
20:13There's going to be a lot of Fortune fans.
20:15So you can bet that we're going to crank it up and have a lot of fun in Cincinnati.
20:19On April 17th, a portal will rise to the occasion and take what's rightfully ours.
20:31AJ Styles is out indefinitely.
20:33But you know what?
20:34My boy has always got my back.
20:37We are the dangerous ones now.
20:39We are the ones who are going to come after them.
20:42We are the ones who are going to try to hurt them.
20:44We are the ones who are going to finish their careers off.
20:48On April 17th at TNA Lockdown, Lethal Lockdown returns.
20:53Prepare yourself for the carnage.
20:56The harbinger of hell awaits.
20:59On April 17th, in the most brutal main event of them all, three men will do whatever it takes to
21:05come out on top.
21:06Chaos has surrounded the TNA World Heavyweight Championship ever since Mr. Anderson lost the title at Against All Odds.
21:14Normally, when a guy loses the championship, he's the first guy in line to get a rematch, right?
21:22Not this guy.
21:23It's okay, though.
21:24You know what?
21:25I'm not going to whine about it.
21:26I'm not going to complain about it.
21:28I'm not going to rob Van Damme about it.
21:31I'm just going to, you know, just deal with it.
21:36I tried to be nice to people.
21:38I tried doing things the political way.
21:41I worked hard.
21:43I did all the right things.
21:44I never said no to anything.
21:48And that didn't really get me anywhere.
21:51It took me 11 years to get a title show.
21:59So, I've realized that in order to get things accomplished in life, you've got to be a bitch.
22:04And, you know, being it f***ed alone just means that instead of waiting for things to land in your lap,
22:17waiting for people to come and find you, but that's never going to happen, you just go out and take
22:21stuff and look for stuff on your own.
22:23That's what I know.
22:24I came in to this company with unprecedented momentum and speed and force and, boom, just grabbed that championship without
22:37anything even so much as trying to slow me down.
22:40I was the focal point of the whole TNA universe.
22:44It wasn't just a belt.
22:45It wasn't like a trophy that I'd just won, an accomplishment where everyone else has their own sitting on their
22:52shelves.
22:53This was the championship and it was mine.
22:56And there was no way I was going to let anybody beat me for it.
22:59And guess what?
23:00Today, although I don't have the championship belt on me, nobody has beaten me for it.
23:07After being denied a shot to regain the gold, Anderson became obsessed with getting his rematch.
23:13RVD was the only man that stood in his way until the icon Sting made a triumphant return.
23:20I wouldn't say that Sting's return lit a fire necessary if it wasn't already there.
23:25Did it add an interesting new element to the whole equation?
23:29Absolutely.
23:30Of course it did.
23:32And while he comes back after, well, like four months of who knows what he was doing, some disappearance, some
23:42hiatus that he was on, from our perspective, he was gone.
23:45He comes back and before anyone even knows he's back, he's already wearing my belt.
23:52Well, first of all, Jeff gets my rematch and Sting gets my rematch.
24:00And again, I'm not going to whine about it.
24:02I'm not going to complain about it.
24:03I'm just going to do something about it.
24:05Sting has a championship belt.
24:07Will that change?
24:09Yes.
24:09Is it going to change the way Mr. Anderson thinks it will?
24:13No.
24:14The guy thinks he's going to be the champion.
24:17This is the wrestling business.
24:19To be expected.
24:21And you either overcome it, deal with it, or get the hell out.
24:25I personally, I love to feed me some more and I'm going to spit it back in the face.
24:33With a series of number one contender matches between the and the whole effing show ending in a no decision,
24:40the world was left wondering who will face Sting at lockdown.
24:44When I came to TNA, it was off the hook.
24:49I went straight to the top, got the championship belt.
24:52Everybody was screaming.
24:54Even people that weren't even exposed to TNA before were tuning in.
24:58I know that's true.
25:00My championship presently still eludes me.
25:04At lockdown, in a three-way match, I will be wrestling Sting and Ken Anderson.
25:13To get closer, yet again, to my championship belt.
25:17It's not going to be my first three-way match.
25:19I've been in several over the years.
25:22In fact, I've had some damn good three-way matches.
25:25And it seems like when I get that five-star frog splash in, the referees usually count on one, two,
25:32three afterwards.
25:33But I'm going to try to make that special move land on Anderson.
25:39Anderson.
25:39What can the fans expect at lockdown?
25:43Wrestling?
25:45Beatings?
25:48Pain?
25:50Agony?
25:51And two guys looking up at the lights.
25:54Two guys suffering the agony of defeat.
25:59I'm going to clue you in.
26:02My prediction is that one of those two guys isn't looking you in the eyes right now.
26:11Mr. Anderson.
26:13There's somebody.
26:14There's somebody with huge amounts of talent and ability.
26:20I'm actually looking forward to getting in the ring with him.
26:23It'll be a first for me.
26:25Looking forward to it.
26:26I guess you could say that I had one of the most brutal cage matches in the history of this
26:31company last year.
26:32I think it was Kurt Angle.
26:35And I held my own.
26:37It's not my first dance.
26:38It's not my first rodeo.
26:40I've been in a couple of cage matches in my life.
26:43And I'm going to prepare for this the same way that I prepared for every other one.
26:48And I ain't going to tell you how.
26:52Why would I tell you?
26:54What RVD brings to the table and no other wrestler has is the perfect balance of strength, flexibility, and balance.
27:07Basically, those are the ingredients that make the whole effort show that nobody else has.
27:11Why is it that other wrestlers don't copy too many of Rob Van Damme's moves?
27:15They can't do it.
27:18So at lockdown, when I got Sting over here to worry about and Anderson over here to worry about,
27:27I'm going to come prepared with all my moves.
27:29So I guess you're going to have to tune in and see how it ends up and just what move
27:33RVD used to become the champion once again.
27:36I'm going to dish out what I always have.
27:38And like I said before, it won't be my first time in a cage.
27:42I'm looking forward to it.
27:43I'm getting in the best shape of my life.
27:45And I will be ready.
27:46It will be showtime.
27:48I have to prove what I've had to prove my entire career.
27:52My job.
27:54I've said this time and time again.
27:56And I'm going to say it to you again.
27:58So clean the little corncotch out of your ears or whatever.
28:01You got potatoes in there or whatever.
28:02Clean them out.
28:04My job is to be world heavyweight champion.
28:13April 17th, in the most brutal main event of them all, three men will do whatever it takes to come
28:20out on top.
28:21None are strangers to the vicious walls of the steel prison.
28:24Who will walk out of the cage with the TNA World Heavyweight Champion?
28:28And I wish I was struggling to achieve the same thing.
28:28And you see the little boy and of me have to...
28:29Never mind your job is to experience a promotion even today.
28:29I want to think of my best trailer.
28:29Odin choke me and I'm a superstar in the section.
28:29I love that.
28:29And it is like the commenced in a wooden frame.
28:29And it is like you're bajo-space you, andgew.
