00:00Here are 14 ways I bet you didn't know you could use old glassware.
00:04Ever have tea light holders you love, but they look a little underwhelming on their own?
00:09I grabbed the tea light holders, some bottle corks, and a cutting mat.
00:13Using a regular kitchen knife, I carefully cut off about half of the cork.
00:17Once that was done, I took my hot glue gun and added a good amount to the widest part of
00:21the cork.
00:22Then, I attached that to the bottom of the tea light candle holder.
00:26I did this on all three until I was left with something that looked like this.
00:30These corks made the perfect adapters to make my tea light candle holders fit into my tapered candlesticks.
00:35It really elevated the short glass look, and because they're removable,
00:39I can just take them off and replace my tapered candles whenever I want.
00:43Wish you could customize thrift store glassware? It's so much easier than you think.
00:48I grabbed glassware from the thrift store and mixed Mod Podge with food coloring,
00:52and then covered it on the outside of the glass.
00:55When they were completely dry, I applied a second coat and let that dry overnight.
00:59I melted some old tapered candles, wrapped the wick around a wood skewer, and placed it over top.
01:05Next, I poured the hot wax into each glass and let it cool.
01:08Looking for a quick way to transform an ordinary glass jar into high-end decor?
01:13First, we're going to repurpose a one-gallon glass pickle jar.
01:16And then we have some decorative nautical rope.
01:19Now, once I get all of my strips cut, I'm going to start using my glue gun to attach them
01:23on the side of the jar.
01:24And all I'm doing is I'm evenly spacing these out, and then I'll go in the middle of those sections
01:29and put a piece of rope.
01:30Next, I'm going to start at the rim and add glue in a few places as I'm wrapping around.
01:34I'll glue two more pieces on top, and it'll end up being a stack of three.
01:40Want to add a lamp to your space but don't have a power outlet?
01:43We're going to start with a remote-controlled light bulb.
01:46We're going to take the base of the bulb, and we're going to glue that to the top of a
01:50glass jar with hot glue.
01:52And then we're going to put in our light bulb.
01:54We're going to take a clamp and add that on top in order to hold your lampshade.
01:58Take that finial piece and screw it back on so it's nice and snug.
02:03Love the look of antique mercury glass, but hate paying high prices for it?
02:07I thrifted a variety of glass bowls, candlesticks, and dishes, and I glued them together with marine and RV glue.
02:14I started with a candlestick and then added a bowl upside down.
02:18Next, I glued a small dish as a riser, and then another bowl on top.
02:22I continued adding small dishes and bowls upside down until I reached the desired height.
02:26For the top, I added a tea light dish upside down.
02:30I also created a smaller version with a small glass upside down, a bowl, and a candlelight topper.
02:36I let them dry for 48 hours.
02:38Then I sprayed them with mirror paint.
02:40While it was still wet, I sprayed it with vinegar to create a mercury glass effect.
02:44I sprayed a few more layers of paint and vinegar and let it dry.
02:50Are dollar store dishes too plain for your taste?
02:53Grab a glass bowl from the dollar store.
02:55I'm going to place it upside down on a wood round.
02:59Then I'm going to surround the bowl with wood beads.
03:01I found these strings of beads at the dollar store.
03:04Place a bead of glue around the bowl and then attach the beads.
03:08Once the glue is completely dry, I can pull the bowl out of the center.
03:11I picked up another smaller bowl at Dollar Tree.
03:14I placed this on the bottom of the wood round to create a pedestal.
03:17Next, I'm going to grab a larger wood bead and fill the holes with some air dry clay
03:21to create a solid, round ball.
03:23I gave it a coat of spray paint.
03:25With everything dry, I'm gluing the larger bead to the bottom of the glass bowl.
03:29Then, I can just place this bowl right on top of that pedestal.
03:34Tired of throwing away candle jars once the wax runs down to the bottom?
03:37Once your jar candle is almost used up, pop it into the freezer for at least two hours.
03:41Wedge the edge of the knife into the side of the remaining wax.
03:44Soak the jar with some hot sudsy water and then wipe the inside of the jar with a cloth or
03:49sponge.
03:51If you have a jar candle with a lid, remove the candle wax in the same manner.
03:56Take the lid of the jar and place painter's tape around the side of the lid.
04:00Now, spray paint the top of the lid.
04:02Take a used wine cork and attach it to the top of the lid.
04:07Need a high-end serving stand but working with a dollar store budget, pick up a couple of charger plates
04:11and a margarita glass.
04:13Start by spray painting the charger plates.
04:15I went back to the dollar store and picked up some melamine plates.
04:18I spray painted these and let them dry completely.
04:21Take one of the charger plates and with a hot glue gun, glue four beads equidistant apart in the center
04:28of the plate.
04:29Put some hot glue onto the tops of those wood beads and press the bottom of the second charger plate
04:34on top.
04:34I took each of the wood beads and with a little hot glue, glued them side by side at a
04:39slight angle into the crevice between the two charger plates.
04:42Remember that margarita glass?
04:44Apply a ring of hot glue onto the bottom of the glass and toward the edge.
04:48Press the glass to the center of the beaded charger plates until it's secure.
04:52Then, apply a thin band of hot glue to the rim of the glass.
04:56Take the smaller beaded plates and press them onto the center of the glass.
05:01Want a moody, antique look without buying expensive vintage fixtures?
05:05I added a splash of vinegar to a spray bottle with water and lightly sprayed the inside of the glass
05:10light fixture.
05:11Next, I sprayed the mirror paint on the inside and drained the extra water and paint out.
05:16I sprayed the light fixture base black.
05:18Once dry, I painted antique gold rub and buff on it, leaving some of the black showing.
05:23Once dry, I added battery fairy lights.
05:27Looking for unique eye-catching garden art without breaking the bank?
05:30I grabbed some thrifted glassware for this brilliant garden decor.
05:34Then, I grabbed some two-part epoxy, placed it around the bottom edge of one glass vase, and glued it
05:40to the bottom of the glass bowl.
05:42I set that aside and let it dry.
05:44I applied epoxy to the bottom of a different glass vase and placed the glass platter on top in the
05:49center.
05:50I grabbed the vase with the bowl and applied epoxy to the top and attached the third vase upside down.
05:56And applied epoxy to the top of the vase that is attached to the bowl, and I placed the other
06:01section on top.
06:02Looking to customize plain glass dishes or jars?
06:05You want to make sure you have a nice, clean surface.
06:07Rubbing alcohol is a good option.
06:09You'll need some stencils, which you'll line up and press down firmly.
06:13It's really important that you maintain the best seal possible.
06:17You'll want to take some painter's tape and put it around the edges.
06:20Now that you have your stencil in place, it's time to apply the etching cream.
06:24I typically do about five minutes to allow it to sit, and then we'll rinse it off.
06:29Run it under a stream of warm water, and just allow the cream to gently rinse off.
06:33Once you have the etching cream all rinsed off, you can go ahead and remove the stencil and the tape.
06:38But we're going to take it one step further, and I'm going to be using this Rub N' Buff product
06:42to add some color to it.
06:45Wish you could turn cheap party glassware into cute decor?
06:48On one of my most recent trips to Dollar Tree, I came across these glass bowls.
06:52I also spotted these cool margarita glasses.
06:56I took some E6000, and I'm going to spread it around on the bottom of the margarita glass.
07:01And then I'm also going to apply some E6000 on the bottom of one of the glass bowls.
07:06Then I'm going to place it on top.
07:08I left it to set.
07:09In the meantime, I grabbed my second glass bowl and the E6000, and I took an old drawer pull and
07:15placed that on top.
07:17Love those frosted pottery barn candles, but don't want to spend a fortune?
07:21I'm going to put a little glue into a small container, and then add a bit of paint.
07:25Now that I have the glue tinted, I'm going to paint it all over the glass dish on the outside.
07:30I'm going to leave these for a few hours before moving on.
07:34Using some Mod Podge, I painted it around the dishes.
07:37Then I sprinkled white glitter all over it.
07:40Once it dries, the glitter will stay in place.
07:42I grabbed these pillar candles from the dollar store, and I'm going to melt them down.
07:46I used a couple of skewers to hold the wicks in place.
07:49I wanted to add some essential oil to give my candles a beautiful scent.
07:53Now it's time to fill the glass dishes.
07:55The final thing to do is to remove the skewers and trim the wicks.
07:59Want to add a subtle pop of color to plain glass candlesticks?
08:03Grab a candlestick.
08:04Grab yourself a little container and pour in some Mod Podge.
08:07You're going to add a few drops of food coloring, and just apply a coat over the entire outside of
08:12the candlestick.
08:12Now, I'm going to add a little bit of blue, and then make another candlestick.
08:16Now, I'm going to add a couple of cups so that I've ever given you five eggs.
08:17I'm going to add some ΠΎΠ±Ρ source provisions to the regarding theΞ·
