00:00What we've done is we've invested £442 million into ending rough sleeping so over the course of
00:06this winter we're going to be working with local partners and charities to give everyone an option
00:11to not have to sleep rough but then you have to put services in place to support people who might
00:17have addiction or mental health challenges and with Housing First deliver a long-term secure
00:25pathway for people to end rough sleeping and that's what's crucial not just about the headline figures
00:31for winter but about how we put the long-term investment in and which is what we're doing as a
00:37government we've invested over £4 billion now into ending homelessness across the board because
00:43we've seen 175,000 children in temporary accommodation and the changes we've made to planning means that
00:49we can get the houses we build because we know the supply side problem is where the real sweet spot
00:56is by delivering the council and social housing this country desperately needs
