00:02South Australians who order alcohol online for delivery may soon have a two-hour minimum gap
00:09between order and delivery, and if they do so, they may only be able to do so between the hours
00:15of 10am and 10pm. This and other reforms are being introduced to Parliament this week. The Premier
00:23Peter Malinowskis hoping that the legislation will pass by the end of the year. These changes
00:29are in response to the Royal Commission into Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence. The Royal
00:36Commission making 136 recommendations. The State Government late last year accepting in principle
00:44or in full 129 of those. The Government has said that it has already completed responses
00:52to 12 recommendations. There's currently 25 recommendations that are being worked on. The
00:59State Government has also committed to a five-year plan to implement those recommendations. The
01:05reaction to the two-hour minimum delay has been widely positive. A domestic violence survivor
01:13spoke with the ABC. She said she's somewhat disappointed that there has been a delay but
01:20is glad that things are happening. There has been some kickback though with Retail Drinks Australia
01:27saying that these changes could have unintended consequences. They say that it could lead to intoxicated
01:35people driving to go and access alcohol.
