00:02Nathaniel, okay. Sorry guys, no death and destruction here, but it comes pretty close.
00:09I came across these crazy obsessions, and because they are too disturbing for words,
00:15and at the same time they had me dying laughing, I had to make a video about it combined with
00:21my
00:21illustrations. Hope you guys like it. This is the story of Nathaniel, a man from Arkansas,
00:27and his one true love, a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo named Chase. Nathaniel is what's known as an
00:35objectophile, or someone who is sexually attracted to inanimate objects. In a TLC documentary,
00:41he described the moment he first saw Chase in a showroom as love at first sight. For him,
00:47this isn't a joke. This is a serious, committed relationship. He talks to Chase, and he claims
00:52Chase talks back to him, telepathically. I mean, my car just makes a weird rattling noise when I go
00:58over 60. It doesn't tell me about its day. They even have a favorite song, REO Speedwagon's Can't
01:04Fight This Feeling. You can't make this stuff up. But it goes way beyond just talking and listening
01:10to music. Nathaniel is physically intimate with his car. He kisses it. He caresses it. He lies
01:17underneath it just to feel close to it. In the documentary, he openly describes having a sexual
01:23relationship with the car, even detailing his favorite positions. He'll press his body against
01:28the fender or, uh, insert himself into the tailpipe. No joke, I'm serious. He sees it as making love to
01:35his partner. Most guys are into horsepower, but this guy is into horsepower. It gives a whole new meaning
01:41to the term exhaust fetish. What's so wild about this is how genuinely he believes in the relationship.
01:48He's not playing a character. In his mind, Chase is a sentient being with a personality,
01:53and they are a couple. It's a level of obsession that is so far beyond what most of us can
01:58comprehend
01:59that it becomes almost darkly fascinating. It's a love story, just with a lot more motor oil and,
02:05presumably, some very confused mechanics.
02:10Gael Engel. Okay, so a guy being in love with his car is one thing, but what about a woman
02:16who
02:17marries a 120-foot-tall steel structure that goes 60 miles per hour? Meet Gael Engel, a French woman
02:26who takes objectophilia to a whole new level. She doesn't just love roller coasters. She marries them
02:33and has babies with them, sort of. Gael's love life is more dramatic than a soap opera.
02:39Her first public relationship was with a roller coaster in Germany named Skyscream. She called it
02:45her boyfriend. But, you know, longest-since relationships are tough, especially when one
02:51of you is bolted to the ground in a German amusement park. She eventually felt separated from Skyscream
02:57and fell in love with a new ride in Bordeaux, France, named Gravity. Her love life literally
03:03has more ups and downs than, well, a roller coaster. But Gravity was just a fling. Her true love,
03:11her soulmate, turned out to be a ride in Quimper, France, named Flasher. And this time,
03:17it was serious. Gael and Flasher got married. She has a wedding ring, engraved with both of
03:24their names. She even claims they have children together in the form of small model versions of
03:29the roller coaster that she builds herself. Can you imagine the family photos? Just her standing
03:35next to a giant steel structure holding a tiny plastic version of it. It's brilliant. She talks
03:41about her relationship with Flasher with the same passion and emotion as anyone would talk about their
03:47human spouse. She feels jealousy when other people ride it. She feels a deep spiritual connection to
03:53its steel frame. For her, the clanking of the chain lift and the roar of the cars on the track
03:58are expressions of love. This isn't just a quirky hobby. It's a complete, all-consuming romantic
04:05obsession with a piece of amusement park machinery. Nick, Aubrey, and their urine obsession.
04:12Some obsessions are weird, some are funny, and some are just deeply, deeply unsettling.
04:19This is one of those. It's the story of a couple, Nick and Aubrey, who share a love so strong
04:26they
04:26decided to replace food and water with their own pee. In an episode of TLC's My Strange Addiction,
04:34Nick revealed that he hadn't had a drink of water in years. Instead, he drinks between half a gallon
04:40and a full gallon of his own fresh urine every single day. He claims it's the key to his health
04:47and
04:47vitality. When he met Aubrey, she didn't just accept his habit. She joined him. She said it felt
04:54very natural to give up food and start drinking urine. Within two days of meeting him, she was
05:00drinking his. Talk about moving fast in a relationship. Most people wait a few weeks before
05:06they even share a Netflix password. But it doesn't stop at drinking. They also bathe in it. In the show,
05:13they demonstrate how they collect their urine and then pour it over themselves in the shower.
05:18Nick even describes the smell as being like buttery popcorn. I've had buttery popcorn. It does not
05:25smell like that. Not even close. I don't know what kind of messed up popcorn he's been eating, but that
05:31ain't it. A doctor on the show expresses serious concern, explaining the health risks of consuming what
05:38is essentially the body's liquid waste. But Nick and Aubrey are completely unfazed. They believe they
05:44are on a higher plane of existence, nourished by their own bodies in a perfect, closed-loop system.
05:50They say love is a closed loop. For them, it's a very closed loop. This is a shared delusion,
05:58a bizarre folie à deux where two people reinforce each other's most extreme beliefs.
06:04The image of a couple toasting with glasses of their own urine is one of the most profoundly
06:09disturbing things you will ever see.
06:13Keisha and the Dirty Diapers
06:16Eh, well, how can I say this in a polite way? This next case is… pungent.
06:25It's about a 22-year-old woman from Queens, New York, named Keisha, who has an obsession that is so
06:31stomach-turning, it's hard to believe it's real. Keisha is addicted to sniffing and chewing on
06:38used, dirty baby diapers. And she's not picky. In fact, she prefers them soaked in urine.
06:45The heavier, the better. According to her episode of My Strange Addiction, she had collected over 25,000
06:54dirty diapers. That's a lifetime supply for six babies. She keeps them everywhere, in her drawers,
07:01in her purse, in the kitchen while she's cooking, next to her bed, and even in the trunk of her
07:07car.
07:08Whenever she needs a fix, she just reaches for a diaper, takes a deep sniff, and sometimes gives it a
07:14little chew.
07:15She's really taking reduce, reuse, recycle to a whole new horrifying level.
07:21Mm-mm. The most unsettling part, at the time the show was filmed, Keisha was pregnant. She was
07:28carrying her own child while simultaneously being addicted to the smell and taste of other children's
07:35waste. She gets diapers from friends, family, even strangers. Can you imagine that conversation?
07:43Hey, uh, you done with that? Can I, can I have it? It's insane. She describes the smell as sweet,
07:51like candy. I've been around babies. It does not smell like candy. This isn't just a strange habit.
07:58It's a full-blown, all-consuming obsession that has taken over her life. The sheer scale of it,
08:05tens of thousands of dirty diapers filling her home, is mind-boggling. It's a sensory nightmare,
08:12a story that you can almost smell through the screen, and it is without a doubt one of the
08:17most bizarre and repulsive obsessions ever documented. Jasmine Bishop and the laxatives.
08:25Obsessions aren't always about strange objects or bizarre substances. Sometimes they are about
08:31control. A desperate, all-consuming need to control one's own body, even if it means destroying it
08:38from the inside out. This is the story of Jasmine Bishop, a 22-year-old British woman whose obsession
08:44with being thin led to a devastating addiction to laxatives. It started innocently enough, with a
08:51single pill here and there. But soon, one pill wasn't enough. Jasmine's obsession spiraled until she was
08:58taking an entire box, up to 20 laxative pills, every single day. Her diet consisted of almost
09:05nothing but tea, energy drinks, and cigarettes. She was literally flushing her life away. And her
09:11money. Laxatives aren't cheap, you know. That's a serious financial commitment to self-destruction.
09:18She describes a life of secrecy and pain. Hiding strips of pills and secret compartments in her bags.
09:25Spending hours every night on the toilet, doubled over in agony, crying from the intense cramps.
09:32Her body began to shut down. Her period stopped. Her hair started falling out. She was withering
09:38away, all for the sake of a number on a scale. It's a tragic irony. In her obsessive quest to
09:45perfect
09:46her body, she was systematically dismantling it, piece by painful piece.
09:52Even after getting treatment for her eating disorder, the damage was done. According to an
09:57interview she gave, her bowels are permanently damaged. She has to take a natural laxative
10:02every day for the rest of her life, just to function. Her body is now dependent on the very
10:08thing that almost killed her. This story is a brutal look at the dark side of obsession.
10:13It's not quirky or funny. It's a raw, painful story of self-destruction. A reminder that the
10:21most dangerous obsessions are sometimes the ones we have with ourselves.
10:26Jennifer and the mattresses. We all have our comfort foods. Ice cream, pizza, a warm chocolate
10:33chip cookie. But for a 26-year-old woman named Jennifer, comfort food is her bed. Literally.
10:40Jennifer is addicted to eating mattresses. Forget counting sheep to fall asleep, she eats them.
10:47Or at least, what they're made of. For over 20 years, Jennifer has been secretly tearing off
10:52chunks of mattress foam and eating them. She says she prefers it plain and straight up. No sauce,
10:59no seasoning, just pure, dry mattress. In her episode of My Strange Addiction, it's revealed that
11:05she eats about a square foot of mattress every day. Over two decades, she has consumed a total of
11:11eight full mattresses. She's on a very specific diet. High in fiber, glass. The obsession is so
11:20powerful that when she finished eating her own mattress, she started on her mother's. Can you
11:25imagine that conversation? Hey, mom, listen, I'm really sorry, but I ate my bed. Can I, can I have
11:33yours? The visual is just insane. A grown woman sitting on the floor, peeling away the layers of
11:41a bed and eating the foam like it's a bag of chips. A doctor on the show explains the terrifying
11:46medical
11:47reality. The foam is barely digestible. It can get stuck in her intestines, causing a blockage that
11:53could lead to a life-threatening rupture. Every bite she takes is a game of Russian roulette with her
11:58digestive system. She is a ticking time bomb. This is a prime example of a condition called pica, the
12:05compulsion to eat non-food items. But Jennifer's case is one of the most extreme ever documented.
12:12It's an obsession that is slowly, silently, and bizarrely killing her from the inside, one spongy,
12:18synthetic bite at a time.
