Celebrating leadership in sustainable business, the ESG Positive Impact Awards (PIA) 2025 recognised 44 firms from diverse sectors and industries with 65 awards for driving high-impact ESG initiatives.

Under the theme “Celebrating ESG in Action: From Vision to Value”, the ceremony paid tribute to organisations embedding ethical principles deep into their core operations, far beyond the bottom line, across 16 categories.

00:03Businesses are proving that success is no longer measured by profit alone.
00:07At the ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025, companies leading the way in sustainability,
00:14ethical governance and social responsibility were recognized for turning purpose into action.
00:19Held under the theme Celebrating ESG in Action from Vision to Value,
00:23the awards honored 44 companies with 65 awards across 16 categories for outstanding environmental, social and governance initiatives.
00:32The ceremony, organized by Star Media Group, celebrated organizations embedding responsible business practices into their everyday operations.
00:40In his welcoming address, SMG Chief Executive Officer Chan Seng Phat said,
00:45ESG is about creating long-term value for businesses, communities and future generations,
00:51while highlighting the company's role in promoting regional ESG collaboration through the Asia ESG Positive Impact Consortium, or AEPIC.
00:59We are proud to say that the awards this evening are part of a larger cross-world agenda.
01:08We at Star Media Group understand that ESG concerns are not constrained by national borders.
01:17As such, we have played our part in raising regional ESG awareness effort as a member of the Asia ESG
01:25Positive Impact Consortium, or AEPIC.
01:29The night's top honors went to two companies.
01:32Heavy APEC Sandirian Berhad won the Most Outstanding ESG Initiative 2025 Award in the SME and Mid-Tier category for
01:39its Sustainable Manufacturing, Clean Energy Adoption and Employee Welfare initiatives.
01:44Meanwhile, YTY Industry Holdings, Sandirian Berhad received the top award in the Large Companies category for its Ethical Labor Practices,
01:52Environment Friendly Manufacturing and Clean Energy Transition.
01:55It is very encouraging when a company like Star Media Group, with the kind of platform and influence that they
02:02have,
02:03is able to find these stories, recognize companies like us, and encourage us to keep moving forward on this journey.
02:11So we're very delighted with this award tonight, and it inspires us to continue our journey of excellence.
02:16It's a recognition or the confirmation that the effort I have put in over the last 10 years have been
02:26recognized.
02:28Guest of honor, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R Ramanan said, the awards reflect Malaysia's commitment to building a more
02:35inclusive and sustainable economy.
02:37The ESG Positive Impact Awards reflect many of the priorities we are advancing in ESUMA.
02:45From human rights and labour standards, to good health and wellbeing, talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as
02:58governments and transformation.
03:00Each award recognizes organizations that make a positive difference.
03:06The initiative is supported by industry partners and government ministries, with Telekom Malaysia as the main sponsor and IJM Rimbayu
03:14as co-sponsor.
03:15By supporting this award, we hope to celebrate these organizations.
03:19They have gone beyond what's required.
03:23They have given real impact to the community they serve, to the environment.
03:26And we also hope to inspire many other companies to do the same.
03:31And we also want to reinforce the messaging that ESG and sustainability is not just good for the community, not
03:39just good for the environment, but it's good for the long-term growth of the business and the business resilience
03:45as well.
03:46Together with SMG, AEPIC's other founding members, Media Group of Kompas Gramedia of Indonesia and the Inquirer Group of Companies
03:54of the Philippines also honored their own outstanding ESG leaders through concurrent ceremonies.
04:00A short broadcast of the ceremonies was aired live across all three venues, along with a joint welcome message from
04:06Chan, KG Media Chief Executive Officer Andy Budiman,
04:09and Inquirer Interactive Inc. Chair Sandeepi Romualdez.
04:13Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia, Maria Angela A. Ponce, who graced the event, said regional collaboration allows businesses to learn from
04:21one another and accelerate ESG progress.
04:25Local action is supported by and also inspired by regional collaboration.
04:30By having this consortium and this program, our industries, the small and medium enterprises, or even the large companies,
04:38they benefit by learning from each other, seeing what are the best practices that they can emulate.
04:43So this exchange of knowledge is very important.
04:45The journey continues this November, when champions from Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines will represent their countries at the Regional
04:52Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards,
04:55showcasing how businesses across the region are transforming vision into lasting value.
