00:00Arab Emirates have inaugurated the largest solar center of the world,
00:04located at 38 km south of Abu Dhabi, called Al-Dafra.
00:09It covers more than 20 square kilometers,
00:11and is equipped with 4 millions of solar panels,
00:13with a capacity of 2 gigawatts,
00:15offering energy to more than 160 000 foyers
00:18and eliminating 2,4 millions of tons of CO2 each year.
00:23The inhabitants of Arab Emirates are one of the biggest pollutants in the world,

00:30derrière des pays comme le Qatar ou le Koweït,
00:32avec une émission par habitant de 21 tonnes de CO2 par an.
00:36Le projet, construit par la Chine,
00:39fait partie de son initiative mondiale Belt and Road,
00:42un méga projet d'infrastructure mondiale.
00:44Ce projet a pour but de baisser les émissions à effet de serre du pays.
00:48Pour rappel, le pays est le cinquième plus grand exportateur de pétrole au monde,
00:52derrière des pays comme l'Arabie Saoudite ou encore la Russie,
00:55contribuant à 8,4% du marché mondial du pétrole.
