00:00The thing about our show was, as a kid, you were reprimanded for getting messy and told to go to
00:04your room. We were rewarding you for getting messy, winning prizes and winning money. It just was
00:09right place at right time. And the kids, quite honestly, didn't care if they won the game or
00:13lost the game. They didn't much care about the prizes. They just wanted to get sloppy. It started
00:17off a little tame, but as time went on, it got messier and messier. We eventually did super
00:21sloppy Double Dare, and then we brought in the parents and did family Double Dare. So it was a
00:25fun show to do. We put Nickelodeon on the map with that show. I mean, they had several other
00:29shows prior to us that did okay. There was a thing called Playground Talk. Research said
00:34that kids would go on the playground in the afternoon and say, there's this cool new show
00:38where you get messy and you dive into a tank full of 5,000 pounds of baked beans and you
00:43can win a computer or maybe go to space camp. Oh, what's that? And then they would go to the
00:48homes of the parents who had cable, and then we were sort of rewarded for getting Nickelodeon
00:52to go into more homes because the kids wanted to watch the show. Downloaded wherever you get
00:57your podcasts.
