00:06Rainbow Six Siege is playing with fire, and shield operators are about to feel the heat
00:13when Operation Splitfire ignites on September 1st.
00:17The new season brings a new Egyptian defender named Noor, who uses his Horus Lance Launcher
00:23to deploy flame-spewing devices into just about any surface he chooses.
00:28Once burrowed in, a Horus Lance will begin burning the immediate area, obstructing doorways,
00:34denying plants, and yes, scorching shields.
00:40Attackers need to relocate immediately, or lean their shield to the side to swipe the
00:45device away, leaving the perfect window for Noor to strike.
00:51We'll tell you plenty more about Noor's shield countering gadgets, along with balancing updates
00:56for Kali, Dokemi, and more in just a minute, but first, some Operation Splitfire quick hits.
01:03A new 3v3 arcade mode is debuting on September 8th for a limited time, challenging you and
01:09a pair of pals to hone your three-pronged attack strategies and triangular defensive tactics.
01:15Visitors to the Villa map will find a targeted update that moves a first-floor bombsite to the basement,
01:21where a major renovation has created more interior spaces, new rotations, and a new tactical challenge
01:28in the scenic Italian countryside.
01:30Champion-level players, this one's for you.
01:33The Legends Division is a solo queue playlist opening mid-season, with advanced security measures,
01:40unique rewards, and a fully visible leaderboard.
01:43If you meet the requirements and have the chops, this is your chance to seize siege glory for all to
01:50see.
01:51And finally, a drone race event.
01:54Starting on September 23rd, a new limited time event will put your drone driving skills to the test
01:59in the Wasteland Circuit to prove who is the toughest on two wheels.
02:04It's a busy season, but let's get back to the burning question of Noor, the new operator.
02:10He's a two-speed, two-armor defender who can wield either the Rome-friendly Commando 9 assault rifle,
02:16or the anchor adept, Alda, 5.56 LMG, as his primary weapon.
02:22The 1911 Tac Ops offers a strong sidearm option, while the Bailiff 410 provides potent sight-setup capability.
02:30Put down a deployable shield or barbed wire to create obstacles that can be exploited by his unique gadget,
02:38the Horus Lance Launcher.
02:40This is the Horus Lance in action.
02:42Noor launches a lance into a surface, where it takes a moment to burrow in.
02:46Then, it begins spouting flames out in opposite directions, if possible.
02:51So, if it's on a soft or reinforced surface, or a shield, both sides get cooked.
02:57But, if it's in a door frame, it'll only shoot one jet of flame.
03:01These flames will give anyone in contact with them a nasty burn.
03:05So, avoid them. Problem solved.
03:08Unless you're trying to thermite open that reinforced wall, or really need to vault through that window.
03:14Or, it's in your shield.
03:16A shield operator stuck with a Horus Lance has two choices.
03:20Number one, put your shield to the side to whack the lance away.
03:24Or, number two, burn horribly, and then die.
03:27So, option number one it is, but that briefly leaves your head and chest exposed.
03:32Which can also be quite deadly.
03:35Noor is a hard counter for shield operators.
03:38Turning the tables from the defenders asking,
03:40What are we going to do about this shield?
03:42To the attackers wondering,
03:44How are we going to neutralize Noor?
03:46But, it's not just Noor they'll need to worry about.
03:49Team up with a pulse, and Noor can easily deny diffuser plants from below.
03:54Slow down attackers with Tubarau or Melusi, and they'll be more vulnerable to Noor's flames.
03:59Shields aren't even the only gadgets that the Horus Lance can pierce through.
04:03Look for opportunities to exploit Osa's shields, Castle's barricades, or Azami's barriers.
04:10When defenders can manipulate spaces to make them dangerous for attackers, this gives them an edge.
04:16And Noor and his Horus Lance launcher are here to do just that.
04:21Now, since you've stuck around this long, here's how some of your favorite operators are changing this season.
04:25First up, Kali. Her long range scopes of 5x and 12x are now 3.5x and 8x,
04:34making them much better suited for indoor spaces.
04:37On top of that, the time between shots on her CSRX300 is decreasing,
04:42and her total ammo is increasing, meaning more shots, more quickly.
04:47Finally, switching to her LV explosive Lance gadget no longer interrupts her aiming down sights.
04:54Time to take another look at, and look out for, Kali.
04:58Dokkabi continues to evolve post rework as she swaps out her EMP grenades and gains breach charges.
05:05Her Jago payload hack will be interruptible by mute jammers, and her tablet must remain active throughout the upload,
05:12giving Solis more time to spot her.
05:16Lion's EE-1D scan warning time is decreasing to better catch defenders off guard.
05:22Echo's Yokai drone will recharge its sonic burst faster.
05:27Kapkin's entry denial devices will deal more damage.
05:31And finally, three popular weapons, the AR-1550 and MK-14 EBR, designated marksman rifles,
05:38and the SMG-12 machine pistol are getting some adjustments to their damage, recoil behavior, and ammo capacity.
05:46Best to plan on a few rounds in the shooting range when the season starts to get yourself recalibrated.
05:51Operation Split Fire is launching on September 1st.
