00:15In May 2025, Strikeforce Borderdale began to investigate the alleged importation and
00:21supply of large quantities of illicit tobacco and vapes by a 53-year-old man and his associates.
00:29The criminal group was allegedly using a bonded warehouse in Bankstown, New South Wales,
00:34to circumvent border controls.
00:37On February 3, 2026, search warrants were executed at a commercial storage facility and on two
00:44trucks on Parramatta Road in Burwood, New South Wales.
00:49Investigators seized a loaded Glock pistol and 91,000 vapes with an estimated street value
00:55of $6.8 million.
00:57On July 21, two search warrants were executed at properties in Reevesby and Marrickville,
01:04seizing 191,654 vapes with an estimated street value of $14.3 million.
01:13At 6am on August 13, another five search warrants around Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne uncovered
01:20$33 million of 1-4 butane dial, $300,000 in gold bullion, $1.5 million worth of luxury watches,
01:30$1 million of luxury handbags, two firearms, $172,000 in cash, $350,000 cigarettes and a BMW X5.
01:41The New South Wales Crime Commission froze over $25 million in assets, including 14 properties
01:49across New South Wales and Victoria, multiple bank accounts, significant shareholdings connected
01:55to logistics companies and the seizure of a luxury motor vehicle in New South Wales.
