New Zealand withdraws support for beleaguered FIFA chief Gianni Infantino

The Oceania Football Confederation issued its own statement on Friday, welcoming FIFA's decision to ditch the FFE investment proposal and signalling its support for Infantino.

00:08including into his now scrapped plan to sell private stakes in a FIFA commercial subsidiary.
00:15That puts New Zealand at odds with Oceania's football confederation,
00:19which welcomed the scrapped investment plan's cancellation but voiced continued support for Infantino.
00:27It's part of a widening split in world football.
00:30UEFA and other confederations want new leadership, while South America and Africa are standing by Infantino.
00:37He's also picked up support from six Arab federations, including Qatar and Morocco,
00:43who say they have quote, full confidence in his leadership.
00:47Infantino is due to seek re-election in 2027.
