00:01DAP advisor Lim Guan Eng has urged Penang Chief Minister Chao Konyao
00:05to meet state party leaders over the decision to keep UMNO in the Penang government.
00:10In a Facebook post, Lim said Chao should not assume Penang DAP supported the move
00:16simply because no one objected at Wednesday's meeting of delegates from Penang, Kedah and Perlis.
00:22He stressed that the meeting was only to discuss whether DAP should remain in the federal unity
00:27government and not UMNO's role in the Penang administration.
00:31Chao should not presume that all Penang delegates endorsed his decision
00:35merely because no one raised the matter, Lim added.
00:39Last week, Penang Pakatan Harapan decided to continue cooperating with Barisan Nacional
00:43despite BN teaming up with Perikatan Nacional in the Negeri Sembilan election.
00:48Chao said the leadership unanimously agreed to retain BN's sole executive councillor, Rashidi Zinol,
00:55but Lim criticised the move as an unconditional endorsement of UMNO.
00:59Lim urged Penang Pihich to act decisively, arguing that PN had now become UMNO's friend.
01:06Chao, however, dismissed the criticism,
01:08maintaining that nobody had raised the issue at Wednesday's meeting.
