00:15the fiscal year reached nearly $1.8 trillion, exceeding the same period in 2025. Medicare
00:21spending totaled $174 billion in July, while Social Security spending reached $141 billion
00:27and net interest on the national debt totaled $104 billion. Tariff refunds cost the government $33
00:33billion, while Accelerated Benefit Payments added $99 billion to July spending. For the fiscal year
00:39to date, the U.S. has paid $1.17 trillion in interest on the $39.9 trillion national debt.
