00:08Shortly after President Donald Trump announced her resignation on Wednesday,
00:12Levitt, 28, described it as a bittersweet decision in a social media post.
00:18Following the birth of her second child, a daughter named Viviana,
00:22in May, she recently made her way back to the White House podium.
00:26She also has a son who is two years old.
00:29Since returning to the White House following the birth of my daughter, Levitt wrote,
00:33The truth is that I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young
00:37children deserve
00:38while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary.
00:43And that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House
00:47and embark on a new chapter in my life.
00:50Trump did not specify who would take her place in the prominent position.
00:54In his own social media post, he said,
00:56I totally understand and respect her decision to leave and said she would still be involved in his life.
