00:00Hospitals in Leeds have been struggling to cope with a huge increase in complaints.
00:05Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust said complaints were up 49% in 2025-26, compared to the previous year.
00:15An annual report said patients were also facing long delays in having their complaints processed,
00:21with 32% responded to on time, against a target of 80%.
00:25The Trust runs St James' University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary,
00:31and said it recognises that waiting longer for a response can be frustrating for patients and for families.
00:38Communication, patient care, nutrition and hospital discharges were amongst the top complaints.
