00:00Bob Iger was still allowing the nature of his and Josh Kushner's purchase of the Lakers to
00:05settle in when he spoke exclusively with the California Post. And understandably so,
00:09considering just how quickly this deal came together. Iger told the Post that he and Kushner
00:14pursued ownership stakes and the NBA's potential expansion in Las Vegas before it came to their
00:19attention over the weekend that Mark Walter could be interested in selling his majority stake of
00:24the Lakers that he just purchased from the Buss family a little over a year ago. Iger and Kushner
00:29immediately jumped at the opportunity coming to an agreement to purchase the Lakers within three
00:33business days. The timing of the deal was just one of the details Iger discussed with the Post. He also
00:38said he and Kushner plan to honor the agreement Mark Walter had with Jeannie Buss for Buss to remain
00:42the Lakers governor for at least the next few years after the sale is official. Iger also touched on
00:47his relationship with J.J. Reddick which goes back to when Reddick played for the Clippers in the mid
00:512010s. Now there are more questions about the Lakers future than answers, something Iger even
00:55acknowledged when he said that he and Kushner haven't made definitive plans about the Lakers
00:58future yet. However, it's clear that Lakers are entering another new era.
