Horse Didn't Trust His Mom Until She Watched Movies With Him

After this horse was adopted and returned multiple times, he didn't trust anyone — until his mom started watching movies in his stall. We spoke to Rebecca about how she earned his love!

00:00He just looked like he'd given up.

00:04The first few times I've tried to ride him,

00:06it was terrifying.

00:08He was scared of the stall.

00:09He'd never been in a closed space before,

00:12so he felt unsafe.

00:14He says, you're not going to fool me to come in here.

00:17He didn't come near me or anything.

00:19He just kept running.

00:20Even at times, he just called out to no one.

00:24He had been through three different homes

00:26in the past three months.

00:28I wanted to be able to build a bond with him,

00:30so I just kept my distance and let him approach me.

00:34Let's go play.

00:38At first, I would just spend time with him in his stall.

00:41I came there every day and I'd stay there for about two hours.

00:44He would come over, give me a quick sniff,

00:46and then go do his own thing again.

00:49I'd just grab my computer, bring it in with me,

00:52sit there for an hour, watch a movie.

00:55He started showing that he was very attention-deprived.

01:00He craved the attention.

01:05I came to understand that just because he wants attention

01:07doesn't mean he trusts me enough.

01:09So I just kept being there with him.

01:15After a while, he started to show me what he needed.

01:21He just was very uncomfortable

01:22because he'd never been given that kind of love before.

01:26He hates when I give other things attention.

01:29When I'm on my phone, he'd knock it over.

01:34Don't do it.

01:38He loves getting loved.

01:39He loves being hugged.

01:44I see him every morning.

01:45Good morning, good morning, my baby.

01:50I see him every afternoon.

01:51It's currently 1 p.m.

01:54I'm going to get Caspian for a ride.

01:59I can be on him, and he's enjoying himself,

02:01and I'm enjoying myself.

02:04Caspian changed my life.

02:06He loves me, and I love him.
