00:09We saw that most were limb, head and facial injuries. Head injuries were the most severe,
00:15with one in ten meeting criteria for more severe trauma. Despite this risk our data reveals a
00:21safety gap. Only 1.8% of these children were documented to be wearing a helmet.
00:35This research clearly demonstrates that e-scooter related injuries are rising and there needs
00:39to be clearer, consistent regulation and greater public awareness. Given the number of privately
00:44owned e-scooters in this study, we need retailers to pass on the legal guidance at the point of sale.
