00:28And our caucus is united and it is determined to win this election.
00:33Our focus is on National's positive plan to fix the basics and to build the future
00:38so that we realise the incredible potential that sits in this country
00:42and that we set it up for our kids and our grandkids so they can do better than we can.
00:46But Luxon faces an uphill battle.
00:49National has struggled in the polls while slowing economic growth,
00:53high unemployment and rising living costs have weighed on the government.
00:58Luxon also survived a confidence vote in April
01:01while his personal popularity has slipped after a series of political missteps.
01:06Most polls now show National narrowly trailing the opposition Labour Party
