00:11Here we go. I'm doing a harking pants.
00:15Sucks. Again.
00:17It's not too hot now.
00:55Alright, we just got to a new temple.
00:58We've never visited before here in Hua Hin. It's called Wat Kao Fanam Chai.
01:05I hope I'm saying that right.
01:07I'm talking really quiet because it is silent here.
01:12And this is an actual practicing temple.
01:16So there's like monks and stuff here.
01:19So, trying to be respectful.
01:21We saw really good reviews of this on Google.
01:24We've never been here before.
01:25We're just not sure if we're allowed to go up to the temple.
01:30Because it looks like it's closed.
01:33And there's no one there.
01:35But there is a sign that says, please take off your shoes.
01:39I don't know.
01:41Whenever we go to one of these places, I'm really cautious to not do anything that we're not supposed to
01:48do.
01:49Because it's effectively a place of worship.
01:53And we don't want to be the tourists that are coming in and doing the wrong thing annoying people.
01:59But it's pretty nice up here.
02:02It's perfect temperature.
02:04Nice sunny day.
02:06Also, every sign here is in Thai.
02:09So, there's a lot of signs.
02:13But we literally have no idea what any of them say, like here.
02:24Oh, here we go.
02:31Look at that.
02:31There's a QR code you can scan to get information about it.
02:35I'm going to try it.
02:45Okay, I guess the QR code is just like a tourist site.
02:49There's a bunch of different things you can do in Huahim.
02:52Nothing specifically about this temple.
02:54But there's a sign that says it's about 250 metres up this path to get to a pagoda.
03:03Which I read online has a really nice view.
03:05So, we'll do the hike up here and see how it is at the top.
03:12Should be okay with Lila, hopefully.
03:15She okay?
03:16She's getting a little bit fussy already, but that's okay.
03:19Lloyd and I have been in a hustle mob for quite a while.
03:22It's kind of hard for us to get out of it.
03:24But one thing that we've understood lately and why we're taking today off just to like
03:29come and do something a little bit different and fun is just how much we value our time.
03:34Especially now that we've got a little one who's losing it right now.
03:38Yeah, so we pretty much did nothing but work for five, six years.
03:46It was all about work, work, work.
03:49Try and make an income online.
03:51Pretty much no days off.
03:52Although, not complaining because a lot of that work involved travel blogging.
03:57Which was fun.
03:58We definitely weren't valuing days off.
04:01Taking time off.
04:02That was like our last priority.
04:03And I really struggle with that.
04:05I still do.
04:06Taking a day off for me always feels weird.
04:08Like I'm doing something wrong.
04:09I'm not sure what that is.
04:10If it's like ADD or anxiety.
04:14Or maybe just for so many years being in that hustle mode.
04:18But Lila's really changed that for us.
04:21Because now I can really see the value in our time.
04:25Even more so than I ever did.
04:26Because now when I have time off, I'm not just doing nothing.
04:29I'm spending time with our daughter and my wife.
04:32Isn't that the whole point of doing what we're doing?
04:34Isn't that why we spent five, six years working non-stop.
04:39So that we could enjoy moments like this.
04:41Yeah.
04:41We're not very good at not working.
04:43I guess once you start seeing like when you say yes to doing something.
04:48And it like is taking your time away from family and doing things.
04:52You see it as a lot more like your time a lot more valuable.
04:55Yeah.
04:55We're in charge of setting our own value in life.
04:57So I think we're just going to start saying no a bit more.
05:02And just only saying yes to things that add to our life.
05:05And I guess that's our new year's resolution.
05:08Is just to not say yes to so many things.
05:10And not be so busy all the time.
05:12Busy doing the right things.
05:13Is that right?
05:14Yeah.
05:14I actually spoke about this in our last day in the life vlog.
05:18A book I read from Dan Martell about buying back your time.
05:22It's not necessarily about buying back your time so you can grow your business.
05:27Although that is part of it.
05:29It's more about buy back your time so you can do what you love doing.
05:32And with that I think comes growing your business.
05:36Like yesterday afternoon I felt really burnt out.
05:39We went and sat on the rooftop.
05:40I just smoked a cigar and we listened to some music.
05:42And all these ideas came to me and I felt like way more calm.
05:47Because my mind had been going at a million miles an hour.
05:50And I was able to do that because of some of the decisions we've made to buy back our time.
05:55So that's kind of the point we're trying to get across.
05:58Anyway, so that's why we've chosen to live somewhere that's sort of like a holiday destination all the time.
06:03So like when we do get time off we can go do holiday-y things.
06:07This is one of them.
06:08Okay these look like headstones.
06:13So maybe we shouldn't be filming this.
06:15I thought they were just little shrines but it's got people's date of birth and death here.
06:22They're really beautiful.
06:24They really honour the dead like beautifully.
06:28These are beautiful statues and shrines.
06:31Maybe we won't show them in the video just out of respect.
06:34I don't know.
06:35Let us know what you think down below in the comments.
06:38I can't believe the weather in Thuahin lately.
06:41On a different note.
06:43It's been like so mild.
06:44I've actually put a jumper on lately.
06:46It's been really nice.
06:48And everyone that's been visiting has said that it's like not normal for Thailand and stuff.
06:53So I think we're getting lucky.
06:54It was kind of the same last year when we were here.
06:57Maybe because we've climatised a lot.
06:58Like 24 degrees is like so cold to me now.
07:02It's actually crazy.
07:04It feels, it legitimately feels cold in the morning.
07:07And then I open my weather app and it says it's like 23 degrees.
07:10So I don't know what's going to happen when we go back to North America.
07:14But yeah we've been told by a couple of people that it's unusual.
07:17It's because the cows are farting hey.
07:20Bill Gates needs to vaccinate the cows.
07:22We're about half way up and there's a bathroom here.
07:24That's really handy.
07:25Usually these places don't have toilets or anything.
07:28Man, we're the only people here.
07:29Hawaii generally gets pretty busy on Fridays usually.
07:32This feels like a bit of a hidden gem.
08:02Guys we're just going to take a quick break from showing you this epic temple.

09:27Alright let's get back to the video.
09:29Well we're just coming to the cliff face.
09:32And the view is pretty epic.
09:35Beautiful.
09:36Look at that.
09:37Nice beach.
09:43Looks like Kau Takau Beach there.
09:46Yep.
09:49And then Hua Hin beach.
09:51Behind the trees here.
09:54Kau Tao.
09:55All the way over there.
09:56Look at these houses on the waterfront there.
09:59They're pretty cool.
10:00There's a few like lakes back here.
10:02Hey.
10:02They look like man made lakes.
10:04I've never seen Hawaiian from this perspective.
10:06Where is everyone?
10:08Some lakes up there.
10:09You think it would be so busy.
10:23Wow.
10:24This is like full 360 degree views.
10:27Like the whole city.
10:35Yeah so going back to that whole topic of how valuable time is.
10:40I think when we really realised it was.
10:43When we were both working jobs.
10:45And essentially trading our time for money.
10:47For somebody else.
10:48For a paycheck.
10:49And then we decided to go out on our own and make our own businesses.
10:53Which we actually were still trading just our time for money.
10:58But this time instead of a boss.
10:59It was clients.
11:00And I thought being a business owner meant.
11:02You would have more free time.
11:04It was actually the opposite.
11:05I had way less free time.
11:07And that's kind of how we stumbled across online business.
11:11E-com.
11:12Content creation.
11:14And what we do now.
11:15Honestly.
11:16Like we had to put in a lot of time at the beginning.
11:18We went through a really big hustle phase.
11:22Like I said.
11:22Probably five or six years.
11:24But now I see things a lot different.
11:26I definitely think there's a stage in your life.
11:27Where you need to be exchanging your time for money.
11:30But if you can get past that.
11:32Where maybe you front load the work.
11:34And then you can buy back your time.
11:36Like we are now.
11:38And I don't think we waste any time at all.
11:41I mean.
11:42Probably the biggest waste of time I would say is.
11:44I watch like a TV show for maybe an hour at night.
11:48That's like maximum.
11:50Other than that.
11:51I'm either.
11:51That's not a waste if you enjoy it too.
11:53Yeah.
11:53And it's a good wind down.
11:55I'm either with Lila and Mandy.
11:57With Bear.
11:58Training.
12:00Working on something.
12:01Learning something.
12:02Reading something.
12:04Not.
12:04But not like.
12:06All out.
12:07Hustle mode.
12:07Like.
12:08Just conscious that.
12:10How important time is.
12:11And sometimes I'm spending an hour or two just.
12:14Sitting on our rooftop with Lila and Mandy.
12:17And that's not a waste of time to me.
12:19Like how.
12:19How long is she going to be this small for?
12:21I know.
12:21It goes.
12:22It goes so quickly.
12:24Everyone keeps saying that.
12:25But she's three and a half months old.
12:26And look at her.
12:27She's still tiny.
12:27She's huge now.
12:30She doesn't walk.
12:31She doesn't talk.
12:32She doesn't really do anything.
12:33She's getting close.
12:35It's so pretty here.
12:38The wind chimes are so beautiful.
12:40Like it feels like magical up here.
12:42I really recommend coming up here.
12:44Go in Hua Hin.
12:44Yeah.
12:45We might.
12:45We'll drop a Google map link down below.
12:48There's so many temples in Hua Hin actually.
12:50We're going to have to hit them all.
12:51If you just scan like the horizon here.
12:54You can see like probably.
12:56I mean there's like four temples right there.
12:58Just all over on the hillside.
12:59It's so pretty.
13:00I do like how the Buddhist temples are always like.
13:03Perched up on a hill somewhere.
13:05Like really cool.
13:06And they're not just.
13:07They're so well maintained too.
13:09And just like.
13:10They just stand out.
13:11And you can just tell they're well cared for.
13:13And like this one.
13:15This one's amazing.
13:36I guess this is what.
13:37They're calling the pagoda.
13:39I've never really heard that word before.
13:41Have you?
13:41It looks.
13:41It's a lotus on top.
13:43Yeah.
13:43I think so.
13:44And there's a big beautiful like red ruby.
13:48Stone.
13:49Yeah.
13:49If any locals or Thai people know what that represents.
13:53Let us know.
13:54I've never seen it before.
13:56And there's these rubies here too.
14:00We're still trying to learn how to speak basic Thai.
14:02Let alone read Thai.
14:05It has to be one of the hardest languages on the planet.
14:08Yeah.
14:09I don't know.
14:10I'm pretty sure like um.
14:12Cantonese is one of the hardest.
14:14Thai has got to be up there.
14:22Wow.
14:22This view is incredible.
14:23And there's just.
14:25A chair.
14:26Right on top of this rock here.
14:28That's pretty cool.
14:28Speaker's now.
14:35Oh.
14:39Oh.
14:44Oh.
14:46Oh.
14:47Oh.
14:49Oh.
14:49Oh.
14:50Oh.
14:52Oh.
14:53Oh.
15:01okay it's starting to get pretty warm now we're gonna go see if we can find a good iced cocoa
15:07somewhere lode and i have been obsessed with cocoa lately i don't know the past like what
15:12do you think it's been like six months or something we've been just smashing the ice
15:16cocos they're so good so much ice so much cocoa i'm not sure what it is about thailand they really
15:22know how to do the iced cocos they're not sugary or milky it literally just feels like cacao powder
15:29with water and ice yeah it's actually really refreshing and if you have like a bit of a
15:33sweet tooth like we do it kicks that craving i find that it gives me energy as well like sustainable
15:39like not the peak energy that i would get from like coffee and then get jittery i like it yeah
15:44i
15:44think there's like probably less than a quarter of the amount of caffeine in a cocoa than there is
15:49in coffee that's probably what it is i guess the ice cocoa comes in a can
16:30somehow it tastes better in a can we're big fans of this place already it was recommended
16:35to us by um some some of our friends chad and kath so thank you guys for recommending this to
