00:00Very possible and very likely, given the nature of what's been alleged,
00:05it wouldn't be oversight involving his family just for the sake of doing oversight of his family.
00:10It would be only oversight of members of his family if there is credible evidence
00:14that they were engaged in conduct that violates the interests of the country.
00:22Should the House or committees subpoena members of Trump's family
00:26as part of investigations into his business dealings with foreign governments,
00:32the cryptocurrency business,
00:34how much of the Trump family might be a part of subpoenas or an investigation?
00:40I think that's very possible and very likely, given the nature of what's been alleged.
00:47And it wouldn't be oversight involving his family just for the sake of doing oversight of his family.
00:53It would be only oversight of members of his family if there is credible evidence
00:58that they were engaged in conduct that violates the interests of the country,
01:04the laws of our country that involves corruption.
01:08Then they don't get a pass any more than anyone else.
01:11I saw the president recently was asked about the ethics language
01:16that I've been fighting to get into any market structure bill overseeing crypto.
01:21And the president making the false claim to reporters that
01:25they want to treat me differently than everybody else.
01:29No, actually, the problem for him is we want to treat him the same as everybody else.
01:34He wants to be treated differently.
01:35He doesn't want ethics rules to apply to him.
01:39And they should apply to him and they should apply to his kids
01:43just like they should apply to anyone and their family
01:45if they're engaged in corrupt conduct.
01:48But we simply don't know when this administration is making decisions of foreign policy,
01:54are they with the best interests of the public in mind
01:58or are they because the president got a $400 million jet from Qatar?
02:04Are we making decisions vis-à-vis Saudi Arabia
02:07because they're in the best interests of the country
02:10or because the Saudis are investing billions in Jared Kushner's investment fund
02:16or because they've invested billions in Trump properties
02:20or crypto enterprises or that of their kids?
02:25There is simply no way of knowing and to protect the country,
02:28we really do need to know.
02:31So I would say no one is excluded.
02:33No one is included just because of who they are, whose family they're in,
02:38unless they're in a position to influence the policy of the United States.
