00:00So guys, May is upon us and that marks the start of Melanoma Awareness Month, but also Sun Awareness Week,
00:06which is in May this year too.
00:07So both of these causes are fantastic. They're raising awareness of the importance of avoiding excessive sun exposure.
00:13So there are simple things you can do, obviously wearing sun cream, hat, sunglasses, avoiding sun at the hottest time
00:20of the day,
00:21but also avoiding sunbeds is really, really important.
00:24Now, the focus of these campaigns essentially really is talking about trying to avoid skin cancer.
00:29Now that's melanoma skin cancer and non-melanoma skin cancer.
00:33So melanoma is on the rise, but it is preventable.
00:36So this is really, really important that you're checking your moles, going to see your GP if you've got new
00:42or changing moles or anything about your moles that are concerning you.
00:45So please do get out and enjoy the sun, but do it safely.
