00:00So today I'm going to talk about a very important topic in pregnancy which is sleep and it's
00:04certainly something that I have struggled with in this pregnancy. So I'm going to talk
00:08you through some of my top tips for how to get a comfy night's sleep for you and to do
00:12it in a safe way for your baby.
00:15So as you may know the advice, particularly in the third trimester, is to avoid sleeping
00:19on your back. So for me personally I like to fall asleep on my left side with my pregnancy
00:24pillow in between my knees like that and that really helps to keep my back and pelvis supported
00:29when I'm asleep. Now another way you can do this is to put your long pillow all the way
00:35around you like that and again as you can see that's supporting my back and pelvis but
00:39the pillow behind my back is preventing me from rolling onto my back. This is quite a
00:43nice one I find if I'm relaxing during the day. At night ideally you would be sleeping
00:47fully on your side if you can. You can also put the pillow right behind your back like
00:52that as I'm demonstrating. Now I'm slightly on my back here just to show you the position
00:56of the pillow but as I said do try and fall asleep on your side if you can. So there
01:01are
01:01so many different pregnancy pillows on the market. If you don't have a long one these
01:05little c-shaped pillows can also be quite helpful. Again popping it there between my knees and
01:09then I just put sometimes a normal pillow behind my back again to stop me from rolling over
01:14onto my back accidentally and I actually find this really comfortable as well. You can see
01:18supporting the bump nicely there too. If you don't have so many worries about your back
01:22and pelvis you can just use a wedge shape pillow just to support the bump and as you'll see
01:27from the side angle my bump's kind of nicely resting there on that pillow. Finally I do find
01:33it quite helpful tying my hair up in a low bun and that just means that if I do accidentally
01:37roll onto my back I have that little reminder there to roll back onto my side. Well I hope
01:43that was helpful thank you so much for watching.
