00:00Sophie, how have you found today?
00:02I found today very, very interesting.
00:05First of all, it's cemented my respect and awe for the big issue vendors.
00:10It's bloody hard work, and I've only done a hundredth of what Kelvin does today.
00:17It's quite a fine art, knowing who to approach and who to just leave alone
00:22and how much to get in people's eyeline,
00:27how to have a radar of who's going to be approachable.
00:30It's really quite hard.
00:34It's quite tough when people just walk by or put their hand up like you're a pest,
00:38like you're a pigeon or something.
00:39You just think, really?
00:42Which has brought me back to where I thought a few months ago when I came out.
00:46Just even if you can't get one, just say, I can't get one today, good luck.
00:50Whatever, anything, just some human connection,
00:52which I think is being majorly lost in all our big cities.
00:57Possibly because we're all living on phones,
00:59but that's another thing I've got in my bonnet.
01:04It's hard work.
01:06But seeing Kelvin really, you know, he's got some regulars who love him so much,
01:11and he obviously just makes them very happy.
01:14And then it's a mutually supportive relationship.
01:18They're obviously thrilled to see him, and the feeling's mutual,
01:21and it's a bit of human connection, and it's beautiful.
01:23So, yeah, quite a lot of rejection and some moments of loveliness.
