00:22for joining me today thank you for having me it is just so great this year it's like been such

00:28great series i've been absolutely loving it how does it feel to be a permanent member of the cast
00:34i am i think it's such an honor to be a permanent member of this cast actually because
00:39you know death in paradise is kind of quite an awesome show like phenomenal show and to be
00:45in guadeloupe for six months of the year is kind of you know it's good it's fun i'm spoiled rotten
00:52and how how did you react when the producers asked you to come back onto the show did you have
00:57to
00:58think about it was it like yes do you know that was so crazy because it was during lockdown
01:03and okay well they always did i was working and doing lots of voiceovers and things like that i'd
01:08never thought that my character would go back into um death in paradise anyway so there i was
01:16twiddling my thumbs and during lockdown and i get a call my age no my agent ran me and said
01:24you know that um death in paradise would like to speak to you just about possibly coming back
01:29that was after four years i was thinking really i mean as what what would i do but um yeah
01:35they brought
01:36her back and she's part of the team and it's amazing how they they actually managed to weave it in
01:44it's amazing i think it's like her personality really shines with the help of uh marlon as well
01:51um yes and i'm like it's like you guys really are such a team you're such a comedy do on
01:57it and i mean
01:58what what do you think of that of that friendship on there and how do you and targe get on
02:02in real life
02:03do you know that friendship is amazing so let's talk about the characters first the character first of
02:09you know initially it was quite difficult for targe to have me join as the police in the police station
02:16because you know it was she took the exam and she did really well she actually did better than tar
02:22went tar um marlon's character and so marlon was like you know he was thinking what's going on here
02:28so there was a bit of he wanted to keep his the upper hand a bit i suppose and and
02:34you see that in
02:35the moped where they have that scene where she says please you know just relax let's just work as
02:41a team you know but now they're they're they're stepping into their groove and they work really
02:48well together what like would you be up for johnny john jules coming back and rekindling that
02:53relationship do you think a darling would let him into her heart again do you know what i think
03:01i think she would because he was he was such a cheeky character he was always so he was just
03:09she would be tempted because they had quite a close bond they had a good bond they had a nice
03:15relationship um and as well you know this this episode um sees uh darlene really rugby tackle i think
03:23it's barney walsh like you know why do they always run one of these things but you're you're right in
03:28there i mean did you like i mean presumably you did that yourself but it's kind of you know it's
03:33a bit stunty it's a bit a bit going on there you into a secret oh go on i love
03:41doing stunts and i
03:43would love darlene to do loads of little stunts you know but that's what i would love for darlene
03:48because i love it i love it absolutely i mean i do have quite a few darlene has quite a
03:54few stunts
03:56in the series yeah there's a yeah there's another one or two two maybe coming up i love
04:03every time you see him it's like yes i go action action all the way babe i love action stuff
04:11anything
04:11to do with action i love and you know as i said um obviously like it's got it's got such
04:17a huge fan
04:18base and everyone's everyone's loving darlene everyone's delighted that darlene's back do you
04:23follow any of that on social media do you enjoy seeing people loving the show do you know i never
04:30used to be a social media person i'm not very good with technology but now i really am following you
04:38know the instagram and and twitter and it's lovely to hear and just just to hear how much people
04:45appreciate your work and what you're doing and the character and the show because the show is just
04:52i i i didn't realize how huge it was i mean we have this show is shown all over the
04:59world
04:59all over the world and we have people coming to fans coming to guadeloupe in like coach loads it's
05:08quite extraordinary i love it we go back in april and i'm counting those days and it's that crazy thing

05:14lot happens when you're away though i mean whilst we were away you know how many i think two we
05:22had
05:22two prime ministers by that time by time i kept getting that we're on the second and then and then
05:27you know a queen passing away and oh a lot happens whilst you're away did you do anything for when
05:33the
05:33queen passed away whilst you were all fair filming that must have been odd it was odd not to be
05:38in
05:39england because i would have loved to have just to have just experienced what you know uh england
05:47morning was like what was going on in london at the time well you or like were you sort of
05:53um
05:53filming at the time you just sort of had a yeah we were filming we were filming and i remember
05:58we
05:58were filming at katherine's bar and i was just sat in our kind of um green room area and all
06:04the you
06:04know the monitors that we had the director the producers in front of the monitors and we were
06:09sat behind with our fans because oh what and i remember my son sent me a text message and he
06:17said
06:18um mommy uh the queen the queen has passed away and i said to everybody oh my gosh the queen
06:25has passed
06:25away and they said no no no no no don't be seeing you Jenny no of course she hasn't and
06:29they and at that
06:30time i think my son had mostly got the information quite early so no one believed me that she had
06:36passed because it hadn't it wasn't even on twitter at the time it wasn't on baby bbc or anything no
06:40it wasn't on any social media so when they found out we had a bit of a one minute silence
06:47and just
06:48just to take it in because it was a shock i think it was a shock mark the moment mark
06:54the time yeah
