00:00Hi everyone, Toph here with more of all the lovely stories that we've found around the world this week.
00:07Now first up, and of course we love our oldies here on Good News, and this story is just wonderful.
00:16Residents of a care home in Edgware have been entertaining themselves, and now all of us,
00:23with their take on famous album covers. Just check out some of these masterpieces.
00:30Robert Specker, who is the care home manager, encouraged the residents to recreate these iconic artworks,
00:39and we think the results are just brilliant. Well done you.
00:44Now next up, apparently the city of Sydney now runs on 100% renewable electricity from wind and solar farms,
00:53everything started to run on renewable energy from July the 1st, and even the Opera House is running on it.
01:01This shift to renewables has been reported to save the city council half a million dollars a year,
01:07Australian dollars obviously, and more importantly will reduce carbon emissions by 20,000 tons a year.
01:15Well done Sydney.
01:16Now finally, we just had to mention the brilliance of Malone McQuende, who is a medical student who has crafted
01:24a handbook for future doctors
01:26to help them recognise conditions on darker skin.
01:31Mr McQuende, who was a student at St George's University of London, created the handbook called Mind the Gap.
01:40He wants to help others recognise potentially life-threatening diseases on BAME people after noticing a lack of teaching of
01:49darker skin
01:50during his time at medical school. I love this.
01:54His university has backed the project and onboarded a team of lecturers to help him out and to help him
02:02publish the book.
02:03Now, as you know, if you've watched before, we can't possibly leave you without a special shout-out to someone.
02:12And this week it goes to the adorable seven-year-old Timothy Madders of Billericay.
02:18Now, Timothy sent a word search to the Queen, just in case she was feeling sad or lonely at the
02:26moment,
02:26which lots of people are, and I think it is wonderful.
02:29However, it seems to have touched Her Majesty's heart, as one of her ladies-in-waiting wrote back on behalf
02:36of the Queen,
02:37and she thanked Timothy and said that his thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.
02:43So sweet.
02:44Thank you so much for tuning in, and I really hope you put a smile on your faces,
02:49and remember to take care, everyone, and we'll see you next week.
