00:08The feeling I have is one of joy and vindication.
00:12As I announced that after over a decade of us fighting, both on behalf of myself and for 90 other
00:19innocent victims,
00:20as part of a class-action legal suit, we have been awarded the highest media libel settlement in British legal
00:29history.
00:30And with it, a complete and unmitigated apology for the targeted smear campaign waged against us by newsgroup newspapers,
00:41including hacking, invasion of privacy, and the publication of countless falsehoods and lies between 1999 and 2010.
00:52What many people don't realise is that newsgroup newspapers, owners of the now defunct News of the World,
01:00and the current Sun newspaper, through the destruction of my public reputation,
01:06have also indirectly destroyed thousands and thousands of other innocent lives
01:12through the profoundly negative impact that this has had on my landmine and animal and children charities
01:20and our ability to raise funds.
01:23This criminal activity and collusion, the evidence for which is extensive,
01:29has had an extremely detrimental impact on my personal life and that of my family.
01:35But that impact is of relevant insignificance when compared to the thousands of would-be beneficiaries
01:43and victims who have unfairly suffered as a result of the impact on my charities and foundations.
