00:00Man there's something so amazing and sacred about music and I love that it
00:06unites so many people and I think why we love festivals so much is because of
00:10community and I think right now we really need community and we need to be
00:14a part of something bigger and that's why also why I love being an artist and
00:17making music so that unity is needed now more than ever as we know the outside
00:23world outside of this festival doesn't necessarily look like the joy that we're
00:27going to be experiencing together so we really need to hold on to that to inspire
00:31us on the outside you know it's so crazy so my first ever Coachella experience was
00:37when I was about 15 years old I performed with Trebal Monterrey at the Sahara tent
00:44and ten years passed and my dearest amiga Carol G invited me to come perform with
00:51her and I told her she was like the madrina que dio la bendicion to so many
00:56of us because after I came out on stage with her I then got to do my main stage
01:01performance and following that I was like I want to pay it forward as well so I
01:06invited other friends to what I called the carne asada of Coachella and I invited
01:10friends like Peso Pluma who then the year after that also got invited to play on the
01:15main stage and then he brought me back and then the year after that I got to
01:20perform with Dudamel which was amazing super iconic we performed my song
01:24shower that orchestra was giving Disney I felt like a princess it was awesome and
01:32that same weekend I also got to perform with my girl Tyler so yeah it was a vibe
01:36and it's always a vibe at Coachella and I feel like it's not Coachella now with
01:40Becky G without her yeah she's got to be there man I feel like me and Carol go so
01:46far back with not just like our history as artists that people can literally look
01:54up our careers chronologically on the internet when you've been doing it as
01:56long as we have been but our friendship is something that I take a lot of pride in
02:01because I think in this industry it's so easy for people to pit women against each
02:06other and make us feel as though there's only one seat at the table and that's
02:09just never been our mentality and we've always believed that juntas somos mas and so
02:14when the G's finally came together in a song I feel like we really we put that
02:19nail in the coffin we said no more of that and and the mommies are here forever
02:25what have I learned from JB I mean you know I also got discovered on the
02:31internet making covers on YouTube and it was because of his journey that I believed
02:35that I could too and so looking far far back to our younger selves I think what I
02:41admire the most is that that essence of dreaming is still there and I'm really
02:48excited to see him headline this year at Coachella I'm really happy for him
02:54right now girl and I was like baby baby baby oh how baby baby baby whoa that's not the
03:09lyrics come on John we got it we'll try it again when we have a better audience guys
03:14haha
