00:02Fast and Furious was groundbreaking 20 years ago because it represented so many different cultures
00:08and yet it took 15 years for multiculturalism and for diversity to really be embraced by
00:17Hollywood and to really be recognized and so you know we started really early and I
00:22think that's that's an awesome thing the one thing I have in common with Mia is I
00:29do feel like I'm the level-headed like peacekeeper within the family especially
00:37in nine because the nine she's sort of between Jacob and Dom and she's the one to
00:43be like Dom don't do what you're about to do and like she can see like where
00:49things are about to go and she's sort of in the middle and I relate to that like
00:54in the middle of conflict I don't get very stressed out with huge life decisions
00:59but I get very stressed out with like little ones so yeah I think Mia is
01:03similar in that way she's like oh I have to hop on a plane and go see Dom and save
01:06the world no biggie
01:11I think it's different now because because we've had time and because when
01:19he's in the films it's it's it's like we have Brian in the universe and and Brian's
01:25still alive within the universe and it's a way to honor Paul which is beautiful with
01:31seven it was different because it was so fresh and it was so recent and you know
01:39to act with someone that wasn't Paul and to sort of unearth that chemistry with
01:48someone else with this was a really painful process so yeah that was
01:53extremely difficult
01:59um well I'm still tied to the franchise through through then through Dom and and
02:05it was especially important now that Jacobs come along as well and I mean I
02:12really I missed it I missed being a part of the family it was really hard to
02:15step back so I'm really really happy to be reintroduced and to be to be back in
02:25the fold
02:25I mean with each one along with the audience I'm sure I'm always like how
02:29is the next one gonna outdo the last one like that's absolutely impossible the
02:33action's so good and it's so like advanced and and yet I mean I was blown
02:38away by the first sequence of this one like it left me breathless
02:47we've we've gotten more and more and more into the forefront which which is so
02:51exciting so to be able to have my own action scenes to be able to you know see
02:55Helen Mirren she has this awesome car chase scene and and to have Charlize be
03:00the like the super villain like it's it's really exciting and it's as it should
03:04be I mean film should reflect society film should reflect the audience that's
03:08watching them so it's um it's really great that that's becoming our reality
03:16it's to listen to yourself before anyone else I think I spent a good deal of my
03:23life sort of outsourcing my my judgment to everyone else going what do you think
03:30whether it would be my friends my mom my sister my husband at the time because I
03:36didn't trust my own inner judgment even though I knew it was there I just was
03:39too afraid to like listen and then I turned 40 and it was like nope something
03:45just flipped for me and so I I think that's that's what it is to be a fast and
03:50furious woman to listen to your own judgment and to to to follow it
