00:01So I'm doing an experiment here. I'm going to try to replant this iceberg lettuce that I brought
00:06from the store. I cut it to the part that was still looking good and healthy and I have potting
00:12soil. Put that in there. I just put soil all the way up into it. Cover the root and the
00:18base but
00:19I didn't press it too hard because I want to be gentle on the roots. I'm going to water enough
00:25to where I can get to the bottom of the roots. Now on this guy right here I'm going to
00:30try to do the
00:31roots in the water. I'm going to take away the leaves that don't look too happy. I'm just going to
00:36pluck
00:37them away with my hands. Okay so I fill up the water just to the line where the root starts.
00:45I'm leaving
00:45there for a day or two. Now this is the base of a broccoli. I left that intact. I'm going
00:51to place it
00:52in a glass and I'm just going to put a bit of water and let's see if some roots start
01:02to sprout from
01:04there. I want to show you the broccoli. I've been putting just a little bit of water like this
01:10every night before I go to bed. I change the water and put a fresh one and look it has
01:15roots and I
01:16have new leaves coming up too. So I'm going to plant this and see what happens. I don't want to
01:22speak
01:22too soon but it is standing there happy and proud. Guys this morning look what I noticed. You see
01:29those little new growths the little bright green. You see that? It's right there. Guys look at this. It is
01:41growing. It is looking happy and healthy. Wow it worked. Yes and check this out. This is the other
01:52little one. Remember I had little bugs. Look it's turning into leaves now. I don't know how long we'll be
01:58until we get lettuce out of it but it will come. Look at this guys. Look how much this has
02:05grown. It's
02:06happy. We got new growth coming in. Oh yes. Remember the little bugs? It didn't have any of the
02:13leaves and look at it. Very cool. Celery cut out the part that I wanted and then I put this
02:21in a little
02:21bit of water. It's been a couple days and you can start to see the new growth coming in. And
02:28check out
02:29the celery. It is coming strong and I haven't even planted yet. It's just sitting on water. So bottom
02:37line here guys you should try it because my hair worked and you'll be throwing this away on the trash
02:45anyway. So if it doesn't work you have nothing to lose. I just made sure I put a little bit
02:49of water
02:51every night before I went to bed. Let me know if yours works.
