03:07The truth is, though, that she was taken at only 36, just slightly older than I am today.
03:13And, of course, we can never know what our mother would have gone on to do.
03:18But in one sense, Harry and I feel that our mother lives on in the countless acts of compassion and
03:24bravery that she inspires in others.
03:28She was definitely a trailblazer in her time.
03:31And like his older brother, Prince Harry is equally involved in many social causes.
03:35In 2009, he co-founded the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, mainly focusing on giving guidance to disadvantaged
03:42youth.
03:43The Sussex also support various charities, such as Help for Heroes, Free the Children, and Canine Partners.
03:49Harry also inherited his mother's philanthropic spirit, continuing the work his mother started but never got to finish.
03:57In April 1987, my mother was only 25 years old.
04:02She was still finding her way in public life, but already she felt a responsibility to shine her spotlight on
04:10the people and issues that were often ignored.
04:13She knew that AIDS was one of the things that many wanted to ignore and seemed like a hopeless challenge.
04:20She knew that the misunderstanding of this relatively new disease was creating a dangerous situation when mixed with homophobia.
