00:33of view as well, you know, being from Puerto Rico. Just a few words about growing up here and what
00:38your childhood was like.
00:40For me, now that I have 25 years old, it's a blessing. It's a blessing to grow here in Puerto
00:48Rico and to be able to live anywhere else in the world and to be able to say that I'm
00:54from Puerto Rico.
01:09You know, and when you were listening to music, like, because you think about some of the artists who have
01:15come from from this island, you know?

01:25And I say that people of Puerto Rico have our wallet, which is the problem here in the island.
01:34I feel like in New York City last year was when the Oasis started to really present itself because Ebro
01:39asked you the question and you were like, okay, now's as good a time as any to kind of confirm
01:45the situation and you overconfirmed it.
01:48I'm like, yes, yes, yes, I'm going to tell you more. And yes, we're going to do this and that.
01:52I'm like, too late, man. Why did I say it?
01:55We've seen it now over and over again with artists who get excited because once you get the concept in
02:00your head, you're like, I want to share that because in a way, I suppose you're testing, like, is it
02:04going to stick?
02:04And then after that, you've got to follow it through.
02:06Yeah, but then we're still quiet. People still are asking me, like, yo, what's up with Oasis? You know, I'm
02:11just quiet because they don't know what's going on right now, which is good.
02:14Where were you at when you had the conversation with Ebro? Had you recorded music?
02:17No, we already had two songs at that time. Yeah, like two or three songs. But, you know, he got
02:22way bigger, you know, so he got, you know, he started going to make his own arenas and stuff like
02:29that and his own album.
02:31And then, you know, the timing is right now, you know, it's perfect timing.

02:36So, Bad Bunny, how did it happen? How did the two of you decide to kind of make a project
02:41together?
02:41Because you could be friends and you can appear on each other's songs and it's all great, but this is,
02:45like, a legitimate thing now, like, how did it happen? How did you guys decide to do this?
02:50It was like, um, since the first collaboration that we did...

02:58Eh, to the people, they loved it and it was a success. The second one was the same.
03:02And then, this happened with the I Like It, which was super gigantic.
03:07And it's like, you have to do something, a project that hasn't been done in the Latin market, a group
03:18of two great exponents and, at the same time, loved ones, with two different styles, but at the same time,
03:28with a language.
03:29Of course. We also represent a lot of people who are Latina. And there are a lot of people who
03:36are proud of you and me, and there are a lot of people who are proud of me.
03:39It's like a union, of what is Colombia and Puerto Rico. It's a message from other people. It's not like
03:50me with another colleague from Puerto Rico, but it's something bigger.
03:57I sort of feel like when you guys got on the Cardi record, that in a weird way, that was
04:01the first real legitimate Oasis thing.
04:04Like, that was a proper moment and you could see the appetite for you two together.
04:09Mm-hmm. I knew what was coming. I knew it. I told them, like, yo, you gotta switch the single.

04:16Yeah.
04:16Oh, my God. The first time anyone heard the Cardi album, it was like, that's the one.

04:59But, man, it was beautiful. So beautiful. We love it, man. It opened up a lot of doors for us.
05:06Number one record was a move the needle like that, a rare for any artist, no matter how big you
05:11are.
05:11What was the maddest situation you found yourself in around that time when I like it was going crazy?
05:16I was just grateful, man. Just grateful. Because we both were doing the right things.
05:23I think it's cause and effect. You know, nothing is for free.
05:27We came from hard work, you know, hours of being in a studio, going to maybe sad moments or depressions,
05:38whatever, you know.
05:39Something about my life, you know. I don't know about Bad Bunny.
05:45But it's not easy.
05:47Well, yeah, I wish I wanted to talk about that a little bit because it's something that I experienced, too.
05:52And I think we're seeing more and more people being open and talking about the challenging parts of being alive
05:59right now, you know.
06:00Not just all the success.
06:02And I wonder whether you still have those moments even through all the success and everything else.
06:06you have those challenging times when you feel lonely or you feel down, depressed.
06:13Listen, I've always been a real and transparent.
06:17I've always been a real person. I've always been a real person.
06:19I think I'm a pretty good person too.
06:26And the connection I've had with the people who follow me has always been feeling.
06:33I think that in my first album, the one that I released for a while, I was in real with
06:38the people.
06:40I expressed a lot of my feelings. There's even a song that was only about that,
06:45of my depression, of my sad moments.
06:51And then there are other songs that are from my happy moments.
06:55I've let people know that I'm the same as evil as anyone,
07:02and that I can be the same as strong as anyone else.
07:05What a surprise people that you go through these moments as well.
07:09One day I called Pharrell. I told Pharrell, like, how do you do it?
07:14Do you feel famous?
07:16And he told me, like, don't embrace it. Just don't embrace it.
07:21So that's what I do. I just don't embrace fame.
07:23You know, I just don't feel like it. You know, and I don't want to…
07:29And I don't want to…
07:30I don't want to change my life just to give people what they want.
07:35I just want to keep it real 100%. You know.
07:42I don't want to keep it real, man. Like, I try just to live the life like everybody else in
07:46the world.
07:48And that's the cool thing about this album. You know, we weren't looking for who's hot or who's not.
07:52Well, you guys are hot. That's the thing. You don't need features because you kind of have canceled that out
07:56by coming together.
07:57Man, we just wanted to, you know, elevate our culture. You know, if I win, they win. If we win,
