00:00An early tombstone in the great live service graveyard was LawBreakers, a multiplayer FPS
00:05from Gears of War creator Cliff Blazinski. Despite being a pretty good game, LawBreakers
00:10stumbled and died in 2017, just a year after release. These days Cliffy B thinks maybe his
00:16ego was a reason for that. I wanted it to be my show, and that was the first step of
00:21my ego
00:21creeping in right there, Blazinski told 80 Level. I thought, if I built it as Cliff,
00:27people will come. I thought there was this brand loyalty from the people who knew who I was.
00:33Turns out, fans are more fickle than that. It turns out, people are loyal to the game,
00:37but they're not necessarily loyal to the person. Blazinski doesn't think it's all his fault,
00:42he calls LawBreakers' failure a death by 1,000 paper cuts. But looking back on it,
00:47the old Cliffy B swagger sure didn't help. Check out the full story on pcgamer.com
