Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Aug 8 said the country must move beyond a state of "neither war nor peace" and violations occur in any memorandum of understanding and added that a team should have been formed to address breaches "rather than to fight".

Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also revealed that Iran and Oman were "very close" to agreement on a new shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz but that reopening it depended on other conditions, including US compensation to Iran.
