00:00Hi guys, so today I thought I'd talk to you about a subject that not so much angers me, but
00:07just makes me go a little bit.
00:10So, not really anger, but more like it just irritates me.
00:16So, I don't know if you know, some of you probably know, that I do bodybuilding as my kind of
00:23exercises and workout on a daily basis.
00:26And I've been doing that for about two years.
00:30And I love it. I enjoy it. It is like something that I've talked to for the longest I have
00:40ever done anything.
00:41And what I mean by that is basically I just like to lift weights heavy and just challenge myself.
01:03But why am I talking about that today with you?
01:06Well, because I know a lot of people that also bodybuild, weight train, lift, power lift, anything like that.
01:15Although I'm talking about women.
01:18And I follow a lot of girls like that on Instagram and other social medias.
01:23And they inspire me, they motivate me, and I just love to see their journeys.
01:28Many of them are competitors, so they compete in like bikini fitness, etc, etc.
01:34But what I stumble across is a lot of hate towards these women.
01:39A lot of hate from women and from men.
01:43And it irritates me so hugely because, like, you may see when you go on these social medias and you
01:54see these girls that compete,
01:55they are buff, they are definitely toned, they're muscly, and they're impressive.
02:04But why other people don't like it, there are many reasons.
02:08Basically, I personally haven't been getting any comments like that,
02:12but I have had slight smidges of comments that weren't necessarily positive.
02:22Basically, it's people saying to those girls, like,
02:26you look too muscly, uh, or that's disgusting, I wouldn't touch that with a pulp.
02:32Literally, people do leave comments like this under these girls' Instagrams or Twitters, whatever, under their pictures.
02:40And I think it's disgusting because all I can see is a girl that is fully motivated,
02:48loves her body, works bloody hard, and, um, oh my god, she managed to get herself to that point.
02:57Like, I wouldn't ever compete, I don't think.
03:01It's just not for me because the dieting and the food is really strict,
03:04and I think it'd just not help with my whole eating disorder past.
03:09But if they like it, and if they feel it's comfortable for them, then why not?
03:15Like, who are we to judge?
03:17Just because someone out there said that a woman has to look like a woman,
03:22which is skinny, um, or curvy, whatever, but not muscly,
03:26because that's only a sign to men, they're wrong.
03:29It is not.
03:30And it's not for everyone.
03:31Not everyone needs to love a muscly woman.
03:34Or whatever.
03:35But it's not their place to tell them, uh, or you look wrong.
03:42Because those girls are motivation.
03:46They've worked the arses off to look the way they do.
03:50And they look awesome.
03:53They have done so much to just put themselves where they are today.
03:57And for most of them, yes, I mean, the look and the muscle gains are, like, a big factor.
04:04But for most, and for myself, it's challenging myself and being able to actually push myself to lift heavier and
04:10heavier.
04:10And be like, I can do this.
04:11I'm a woman, and I can do this.
04:14That's one of the reasons I love weightlifting.
04:16It's because I'm not categorizing myself as a woman, and I can't lift heavy.
04:22No.
04:22I'm showing myself and everyone around me that just because I'm a lady, I can lift heavy.
04:27And I'm impressed with myself.
04:28I challenge myself.
04:30I love the challenge.
04:32I also love the bonuses.
04:34I mean, you can't really tell.
04:35But there are muscle gains for myself as well.
04:38And I love that.
04:39But I don't really just work for that.
04:41It's more of how it makes me feel inside.
04:44And I think it really suits my kind of personality.
04:47I like to see myself as stubborn, but also strong.
04:50And if I give myself a goal, I'll try to aim for it and not give up.
04:55And I will always bounce back up.
04:57Even if it takes long, I will bounce back.
05:01But that's exactly what these women do.
05:04They challenge themselves.
05:06They do it all by themselves.
05:08And some people don't realize how hard that is.
05:11And how much they're really passionate about it.
05:13Like, lifting is hard.
05:17I mean, it's heavy.
05:18It's dedication.
05:19I know their diets are, like, extreme on point.
05:23And then there's someone that comes around and says,
05:26I wouldn't touch you with a pole.
05:27Like, really?
05:29Is that your place to say?
05:31Like, no.
05:35I just think, just because it's not your type,
05:38I personally don't think I'd want to look too muscly.
05:41But I so am inspired by those women.
05:47And let's talk about, like, why women say it.
05:50I think women say it because they're jealous.
05:52Honestly, I do.
05:53I think they're jealous that they can't get themselves to that point
05:55and have that motivation, that willpower, that strength
05:58to put themselves in the place that those women are.
06:01Because it takes a lot of bloody hard work.
06:04And those women can't do it.
06:05So, what they do, they try to bring them down
06:08so they're at their own level.
06:12And men, why do men do it?
06:13Well, I think, personally, many of those men are intimidated.
06:18I mean, some of those women are way more buff than men.
06:22And then they see that, like,
06:25Nah.
06:26A girl shouldn't be able to do that.
06:28I'm the man.
06:29I should look buff.
06:31And that's when they feel a little bit intimidated
06:34and, like, endangered.
06:36And they're like,
06:37No, no, no, no, no.
06:37Women say woman.
06:38I'm the man.
06:39I'm the macho.
06:40So, I think intimidation is a big part for men
06:43when it comes to seeing women that are buff.
06:46And none of those reasons are okay.
06:48And people are allowed to have their opinions, of course.
06:51Because we all do.
06:52We're humans.
06:53We have opinions.
06:53We like something we don't.
06:54But it's not something that we should put out on social medias
06:59with disgusting words
07:00and bring those hard-working girls down.
07:04So, this is why this subject irritates me.
07:07I'm not a competitor, but I weight lift.
07:09And I've had snappy little comments.
07:11Sometimes I was like,
07:11Oh, you look too much now.
07:13Blah, blah, blah.
07:14Don't get any more muscly.
07:16Why?
07:17Tell me why.
07:18I like it.
07:19Do I tell you not to eat chocolate every day?
07:22Because I don't like chocolate?
07:25No.
07:25I mean, that's probably not a great comparison,
07:27but it's no one's business what you do in your own time.
07:34So, this is why it annoys me.
07:37It doesn't anger me, but it annoys me.
07:40And I personally used to think that, like,
07:42girls that compete look like loads.
07:46They're definitely very, very, very muscly.
07:48And I used to think...
07:49But then again, I've seen a different part of it now
07:51and I see how hard they work,
07:53how much they actually love it
07:55and how proud they are of themselves.
07:57And that shines through when you, like,
08:00get to know them
08:01and just see what they're up to
08:03and follow their journey.
08:04You generally see that, yes,
08:06it's a lot of hard work and sweat,
08:08but that happiness and proud moment
08:11that they get is just worth it.
08:14So, I think they're amazing women, basically.
08:19And that's what I wanted to talk about today.
08:21Just a little view, my view,
08:24of how I see things like that.
08:26And, yes, I will train myself
08:29and I'm not going to stop for now.
08:31I like it
08:32and I don't care what people think about me.
08:36I post pictures of myself
08:37and my gains,
08:41my muscles
08:43and how I look
08:45and I don't care what people say.
08:47However, if someone told me
08:49or, like, really horrible comments,
08:51it would hurt.
08:53But at the same time,
08:54I'm not going to let them bring me down.
08:57So, just watch what you say on the media
08:59and don't judge someone
09:00because of how they look.
09:01They do have a soul and a heart.
09:04I think that's my rant for today
09:06and that's my little video for this week.
09:09So, thank you for listening.
09:10Bye.
