00:00Venezuela and Chile are moving toward the normalization of their relations and have formalized the restoration of consular ties through
00:06an exchange of verbal notes in Caracas.
00:09As part of this agreement, both countries are moving to reopen their consulates general, with the aim of facilitating services
00:16and procedures for Venezuelan cities as in Chile and Chilean residents in Venezuela.
00:20The delegation also expressed their interest in continuing to strengthen dialogue in areas such as trade, investment and cooperation.
00:27This approach marks the beginning of a new phase in bilateral relations following the break in diplomatic ties in 2024.
00:40I want to share some good news with you. As of now, we have formalized our consular relations with Venezuela.
00:46Our director of consular affairs has exchanged notes to put this into effect,
00:51which means that we are now beginning to work to make our consular services available to the more than 700
00:56,000 Venezuelans living in Chile and the 25,000 Chileans living in Venezuela are consular services.
01:02This means that, starting now, we will begin working to make the consulates in Chile and Venezuela operational and to
01:09provide the necessary services.
01:11Without a doubt, this is a very important step toward the normalization of consular services and diplomatic relations with Venezuela.
