00:10for U.S. Senate is a man named Abdul El-Sayed, and he has extreme anti-Israel views. He even
00:16wants to cut off funding for defensive weapons like Iron Dome, when all Iron Dome really does
00:22is shield Israeli civilians from Hamas terrorist rockets. El-Sayed also can't even explain whether
00:28he believes Israel has a right to exist, and most controversially of all, he appeared to empathize
00:34with a terrorist who attacked a Jewish daycare several months ago and died in a firefight with
00:40security personnel there. Democrats are rushing to embrace El-Sayed because they want to consolidate
00:45the party behind a nominee, believing that's the best way to win in November. But El-Sayed comes
00:50with significant baggage, and he does differ, at least nominally, with Newsom on foreign policy.
00:56But Newsom is setting that aside and rushing to embrace El-Sayed along with the rest of his
01:01Democratic peers. It seems that Newsom is desperate not to be left behind by the rest of the field,
01:07and so he's trying to keep pace with the far left as it grows within the Democratic base.
01:12Whether this makes him more electable in a general election remains to be seen.
