A King Cobra is the world’s longest venomous snake, capable of growing over 5.5 meters (18 feet) in length. Found in the forests, bamboo groves, and wetlands of South and Southeast Asia, this majestic reptile is admired for its intelligence, speed, and iconic hood.
Unlike most snakes, the king cobra primarily feeds on other snakes, including venomous species, earning it the scientific name Ophiophagus, meaning “snake eater.” When threatened, it raises the front part of its body, spreads its hood, and emits a deep hiss to warn potential predators.
