00:07The vacant Bentley Primary School site on Clipston Street in Meanwood will be auctioned,
00:12with the sale aiming to raise much-needed funds and relieve the authority of maintenance costs.
00:18A report said the property is surplus to council requirements,
00:22and no operational reason has been identified to justify its retention.
00:26The property has been vacant since November 2018, and an auction is deemed the best way of disposing of it.
00:34The site was previously protected by government legislation,
00:38which prevented it from being sold without written consent from the Secretary of State for Education.
