00:33The Best Places for Fairies
00:43Like every other game in the series, fairies are highly useful in Tears of the Kingdom.
00:48But in a vast open world, they can be hard to come by.
00:52One of the best places to find them, told to Link by Numar at Luralin Village, is the nearby Lover's
00:57Pond at night.
00:59As long as you don't already have fairies, a group spawns by the pond at 5pm.
01:09They can also be found in large numbers on certain sky islands, namely Courage and Valor Island, where Link performs
01:15diving challenges.
01:16You still have to have fewer than two in your inventory, but they reliably spawn at the ponds on both
01:22islands, which can be easily warped too.
01:27Trouble in Paradise
01:34There are a ton of NPCs across Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom,
01:39and there are some interesting updates to small, individual stories that not every player will pick up on.
01:45In Breath of the Wild, Link meets a couple in Rido Village on their honeymoon.
01:54Jogo is worried his new wife will ask for a divorce, since she hates the location.
01:59This is accurate.
02:01Junie complains, since they could have gone somewhere like Gerudo Town with its fancy jewelry,
02:06or Zora's Domain with its, quote, weird spiritual fish people.
02:10Link can ease the tension by giving her a baked apple, completing a small side quest.
02:14Interestingly, in Tears of the Kingdom, they've now separated.
02:20Jogo is still found in the Hebra region, this time with new companion, Yamo, seeking out a professional shield surfing
02:27teacher.
02:28And Junie has since visited Gerudo Town, having learned to craft sand-sealed toys for children, which are the basis
02:33for a minigame.
02:34Eh, it seems like they're both better off.
02:44Pura's Fashion Commentary
02:55Pura became a fan-favorite upon her reintroduction in Tears of the Kingdom.
02:59Always keeping watch on things and lookout landing, she'll give advice depending on your point in the story.
03:05But, she'll also comment on what Link is wearing.
03:13She's one of several NPCs who don't take kindly to Link wearing the Yiga Clan set.
03:18She'll also humorously chastise Link if he wears nothing.
03:21Wearing the Champion's leathers, she'll be glad to see that Link reclaimed them.
03:25And, befitting a historian, she even recognizes the ancient hero's aspect.
03:33Though it doesn't make much impact on your experience, it's always nice to get some extra dialogue from Pura.
03:39Stunning Rays
03:47Many players already know that mirrors, although used to good effect in certain puzzles, take on a much more valuable
03:53use when fused to a shield.
03:55During the day, Link can use a mirror shield to deflect sunlight into enemy eyes, stunning them.
04:00But, the extent of its usefulness might be lost on some players when it comes to higher difficulty enemies.
04:09On top of regular enemies, this can stun Sand Seals, and even some overworld mini-bosses like Pinoxes and Gloom
04:16Spawn.
04:17The downside, of course, is that they don't work at night or in the depths.
04:20However, they also don't work on Lynels, but we'll talk about a different trick for them later.
04:29Bribing with Fish
04:30After rescuing Luralin Village and rebuilding its homes and establishments, Link gets access to a ton of free stuff on
04:38every visit.
04:38And you can exploit this to earn more.
04:40One reward for Link's bravery is a free play of a gambling mini-game run by Cloyne.
04:46Link picks one of three chests, and the rupee inside corresponds to the rarity of one of three prizes.
04:52You can only play once a day, unless Cloyne smells roasted porgy on you.
04:57There's always a group of them sitting by the fire nearby outside.
05:00Give him two, and Link can always get all three prizes.
05:04The Wonder of Dragon Parts
05:12Dragon Parts are some of the rarer materials in Tears of the Kingdom.
05:16As such, they come with a nice bonus you can exploit.
05:19Link's Zonai builds will disappear if he gets a certain distance from them.
05:22But if you attach a dragon part, this distance is significantly increased.
05:28And this carries over to your auto-builds, with no need to keep using valuable resources.
05:39As for the non-friendly dragons in the game, Gleeocs, their horns might seem a little weak in power for
05:45how strong the creatures are,
05:47but they're the only elemental fuse items that never run out of energy, just coming with the shortcoming of decreased
05:53weapon range.
05:59A better surf
06:06Introduced in Breath of the Wild, shield surfing was a fun, quick way to get down a hillside, or, better
06:11yet, a steep frozen peak.
06:13The developers made it a little better in Tears of the Kingdom through letting Link fuse materials to his shield.
06:18There are a few viable Zonai devices, namely the sled and the cart, however, those tend to still be a
06:24little rocky when it comes to making precise movements.
06:27The best option, especially when getting rid of friction, is ice.
06:34An ice block shield will work, but the ice will eventually melt.
06:38The best options are frozen fish and frozen meat for a long, smooth ride.
06:54As Link completes steps in Pen's side quest, he'll learn of the Dondons, a newly uncovered race of creatures that
07:01Link can feed luminous stones in order to get rarer gems next visit.
07:08You'll finish the quest, and get a reward, but if Link returns to the NPCs who mentioned having heard about
07:14these mysterious beasts, they'll give him extra goodies for the information.
07:21You can get a swift carrot from the boys at Dueling Peak's stable, an enduro carrot from Breen at Woodland's
07:27stable, and a pony point after looking at some Dondon drawings from the owner of the Wetland's stable.
07:37Stunlocking a Lynel
07:44Lynels are still challenging foes to come across in Tears of the Kingdom, but just like in Breath of the
07:49Wild, Link grows strong enough to handle them.
07:51Better yet, some players figured out a way to essentially stunlock them with the proper fused weapon, a Muddlebud Arrow.
07:58Once Link gets the Lynel stunned through a crit where he can climb on their back, the Lynel will eventually
08:03throw him off.
08:04While entering bullet time, firing a Muddlebud Arrow at the Lynel's head, which must also be a crit, will stun
08:10the Lynel all over again, allowing you to repeat the process.

08:43The Gleox Hidden Move
08:52There are a couple of minor details about the Gleox that some players might not ever see.
08:56If they're not standing idly, waiting for Link to show himself, then they're often seen flying around.
09:02But they do have a walking animation, which one might perform if only you try to bait it towards you.
09:14Another detail most players might never see is a tail swipe attack.
09:18Most of the time, the Gleox fires blasts and beams at Link, or blows him backwards with a strong gust
09:23from its wings.
09:24If you can get close enough not to be blown away, the Gleox will make a tail swipe in a
09:29final attempt to get you to back up, which you can actually flurry rush.
09:40Do you know of any other fun facts about Tears of the Kingdom you think others don't?
