00:00Trouble with the trolley, eh? Well, just use the D-pad or analog stick to change lanes.
00:06Press the X button to jump, and press the circle button to fire the cannon.
00:10Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 most difficult levels across the Spyro games.
00:26Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long.

00:35Fireworks Factory, Spyro, Year of the Dragon.
00:45To be honest, Fireworks Factory isn't all that bad to play through casually.
00:49The big reason why it even ends up being hard here is because of the boss fight with the twin
00:54dragons.
00:55See, whenever you land a hit on one of the dragons, they lose a segment of their body.
01:00However, they will also move around the stage a lot faster than before.
01:10Take too long to land another hit, though, and they'll regenerate.
01:13Yes, it is a constant tug-of-war here, but the speed boost is really what ends up making the
01:19fight go on way longer than it needs to.
01:21And that is why some players cannot stand Fireworks Factory in the slightest.
01:26The rest of the world is great, but it's this boss fight that makes it a total headache.
01:37Misty Bog, Spyro the Dragon.
01:49In terms of navigation and combat, Misty Bog isn't as bad as some people make it out to be.
01:55It's a relatively flat swamp with most of the enemies being easily torched.
02:00But what makes Misty Bog a real pain in the tail is simply collecting all of the gems.
02:11There are plenty of gems hidden in faraway areas that you can easily neglect.
02:16Some are even tucked away on even lower platforms than the game even lets on.
02:22For as linear as it appears, Misty Bog can steal way more time from you than most of the first
02:28game's other worlds will.
02:36Time Machine Lab.
02:38Spyro, Season of Ice.
02:47In general, Season of Ice is a somewhat difficult game to play.
02:51We're all on board for a 2.5D Spyro game, but there are a handful of moments where you just
02:56cannot tell where Spyro may or may not land.
03:00There's just no sense of depth or distance in this game.
03:08Time Machine Lab can be especially troublesome because of this, and it doesn't help that the entire world is so
03:15labyrinthian in its design.
03:16What makes things even worse is how most enemies here can protect themselves against fire, thus forcing us to use
03:22the incredibly awkward charge attack.
03:24Yes, there are moments of us falling off the level than we would like to admit.
03:33Yeti Boxing.
03:34Spyro, Year of the Dragon.
03:37I know you do it!
03:44Don't get us wrong, some of the minigames in Year of the Dragon are incredibly fun, but Yeti Boxing has
03:50become the bane of our existence.
03:52To be completely honest, it was a cool idea having basic fighting game mechanics in a 3D platformer like this.
03:58But the problem here is just how unfair the fight quickly becomes.
04:10Your opponent can recover and attack way faster than you do, and you'll notice many obvious uses of input rating.
04:17Really, you'll end up losing due to some sucker punch he was able to weasel in because of frame advantage.
04:23And so, some players choose to just not complete Year of the Dragon because of this, and maybe Fireworks Factory.
04:30But mostly this.
04:31You should go back and kick his butt again!
04:34Make him give me my ball back!
04:36Fracture Hills.
04:37Spyro.
04:38Ripto's Rage.
04:43Ooh!
04:46Though it isn't the biggest hurdle in Ripto's Rage, Fracture Hills has gained a notorious reputation for completionists.
04:54Overall, the level is straightforward in traversal, and finding every collectible isn't super grating.
05:00However, the mission where you must escort the Alchemist is where most people lose their minds.
05:13The Alchemist wants you to escort him to Hunter, whose location is literally 20 feet away, and completely out of
05:22the way, of a group of menacing sleeping golems.
05:26But for whatever reason, the Alchemist wants to take the most complicated route possible, and try to run into every
05:34golem possible.
05:35If he gets hit, you have to restart the entire mission over from the beginning.
05:40Sounds like fun, right?
05:49Dark Minds.
05:51Spyro.
05:51A Hero's Tale.
06:02This is another one of those games some people enjoy because, ooh, but the potential it had, it's so good,
06:08even though that potential was light years away from where the finished product ended up being.
06:13Regardless, if there was any point that summarizes how infuriating a hero's tale is to play, it's Dark Minds.
06:20This is one of Blink the Mole's levels, and as many of us might recall, Blink's levels sucked.
06:26Hey, you're right.
06:28Not only did he have some of the most abhorrent mechanics in exploration and combat, but Dark Minds got excessive
06:35with the combat by placing enemies everywhere.
06:39Had there been a few extra checkpoints, maybe Dark Minds would have been more digestible.
06:44Alas, that is not how history unfolded here, whatever potential there was with this game.
06:49There, I found you a light gem.
06:56Tree Tops.
06:58Spyro the Dragon.
07:06This is easily the hardest world to complete out of the entirety of Spyro the Dragon.
07:12The big reason we say this is because of how obnoxiously disconnected Tree Tops is.
07:18Play through it normally, and not collect everything, then sure, it's no biggie.
07:24But if you want that 100% completion, you're going to have to think outside of the box here.
07:35Gathering every gem in Tree Tops will require you to charge, jump, and glide off of very specific ledges in
07:42order to reach hidden areas.
07:44And yes, there is a good chance you'll time your jump incorrectly, and barely miss a ledge.
07:57Super Bonus Round!
07:59Spyro, Year of the Dragon.
08:01This place is where the sorceress kept all her treasure.
08:05But after she was defeated, a bunch of thieves came and stole it.
08:09If you can catch the thieves, you're more than welcome to keep the treasure.
08:14So, imagine collecting every single dragon egg, beating the sorceress, and watching the ending.
08:20You're done with Year of the Dragon, right?
08:23You can move on with your life, right?
08:25Not if you want to complete it!
08:33Here, you will have to chase down even more thieves for more gems,
08:38take part in a ridiculously tough skateboarding race against the yetis,
08:43pilot Hunter's dumb little submarine yet again,
08:47fly around the map to destroy UFOs as if you haven't done enough of that already,
08:51and then fight the sorceress again in a boring UFO-based rendition of her boss fight.
08:59We did all this before, Insomniac!
09:01We suffered!
09:02Let us be!
09:04Had the mechanics been tweaked a bit, we wouldn't mind here, but come on!
09:14Cloud Nine.
09:15Spyro, Enter the Dragonfly.
09:18Your electric breath would be perfect for powering the machines!
09:22No one around here can get any sleep!
09:25Can you help us?
09:26In case you haven't played Enter the Dragonfly before,
09:30well, you don't need to bother.
09:32The game is a horribly broken mess that barely functions half of the time,
09:36but if you somehow power through it,
09:38you'll get to suffer through one of the most hardest and worst levels in Spyro history,
09:44Cloud Nine.
09:45If you come across certain areas that make this level look unfinished,
09:49well, that's because it is unfinished.
09:59Cloud Nine seemed to have escaped whatever QA testing,
10:02as it boasts even more bugs and glitches than any other level in the entire game,
10:08which can result in even more cheap deaths than before.
10:11Despite this, there is still one world many of us Spyro fans resent,
10:16more than whatever pile of ones and zeros Cloud Nine ended up becoming.
10:20Thanks for the help, Spyro.
10:22Here's a dragonfly for you.
10:28If you love games, be sure to check out WatchMojo's new game, Terrible Influence,
10:33just launched for purchase at TerribleInfluence.com.
10:36Terrible Influence is a satirical board game about the dark side of fame
10:39from the writer of the most popular girls in school and us, WatchMojo.
10:43Boom.
10:44I can make an apology video.
10:46Oh, you so would.
10:47Click on the link in the description to check out the game
10:49and be the first to play Terrible Influence.
10:52Breeze Harbor, Spyro, Rypto's Rage.
11:01Now, this level isn't hard because of difficult jumps or absurd combat encounters.
11:07Pretty much nothing you would expect from typical games.
11:10Play it straightforward, and yeah, you can expect the usual stuff as you would in other Spyro levels.
11:15But for completionists, one phrase plagues their minds.
11:19Trouble with the trolley, eh?
11:21Breeze Harbor's Minecart minigame is one of the most abysmal minigames you could ever play
11:28because of its tight turns and awful controls.
11:32For as good as it was overall, even the Reignited remake of this level couldn't really mitigate the migraines here.
11:39And so, Breeze Harbor lives in infamy as the hardest world, all because of this one stupid, insipid minigame.
11:49That was great work, Spyro.
11:52Now I can start fixing my machines.
11:54What is the hardest level that you've played in a Spyro game?
