00:12ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the two sides agreed today to a three-year extension
00:17worth potentially up to $75 million. The pact includes $51 million guaranteed.
00:25That's another record for the position. Let me make sure that my take is crystal clear.
00:32B. John Robinson worth every single penny. I think B. John Robinson is a superstar.
00:37He is absolutely sensational. He's fast. He's speedy. He's smart. He hits the holes. He's powerful.
00:45He catches the ball out of the backfield. He is a playmaker, the quintessential playmaker.
00:50You can make the case that he is the best running back in the NFL.
00:54You can make the case that all around, he's the best playmaker in the NFL.
00:58He was worthy of when the Falcons took him with that fourth overall pick in the draft a few years
01:03ago.
01:03I think B. John Robinson is a gem.
01:07And when you look at the average annual value for running backs right now in the National Football League,
01:13he deserves to be at the top of the chart.
01:16Look, I'm still a big-time Christian McCaffrey guy.
01:18Saquon Barkley obviously rightly got paid and had, after he left the Giants, goes to Philly.
01:24The single greatest season, regular season, postseason, by a running back in the history of the NFL.
01:29Derrick Henry is still ridiculously effective.
01:31The Dolphins made sure they paid Devon H.
01:34And B. John deserves this.
01:36Absolutely deserves this.
01:38And a brilliant job by the Falcons, their new brass with Kevin Stefanski as their brilliant new head coach.
01:48Matt Ryan, now in charge of football operations.
01:51Ian Cunningham, their new general manager, getting ahead of it.
01:56Because Jameer Gibbs, part of that same draft class, is also due new money.
02:02And when you look at it, and I would make this case, Robinson's the better player.
02:09Robinson, the better weapon.
02:11Robinson, the better running back.
02:14And it's close, right?
02:16When you start looking at yards per carry and rushing yards and receiving touchdowns and rushing touchdowns,
02:23I would pick, just like the Falcons did, Robinson as opposed to Gibbs.
02:28Now, I am a huge Jameer Gibbs fan.
02:30Loving Detroit.
02:31Did what they did.
02:32You know, in the draft.
02:33It was kind of like the draft day movie where, you know, they traded back and traded up.
02:38And I thought it was a phenomenal job by Brad Holmes and company.
02:41But great job by the Falcons getting ahead because there's a contractual situation with Gibbs going on right now.
02:49And, you know, the way this thing works, and I don't get worked up about it.
02:52I'm sure Gibbs and his agents are going to use the Robinson contract and say, great, I want a dollar

03:00You're asking me to do a running back ranking, and we will at some point on Shine Time.
03:05I would put Robinson ahead of Gibbs.
03:08But Gibbs is going to end up getting more money.
03:10And, you know, if the Lions try to mess around, they're going to find out.
03:14And I don't love the Lions in any way, shape, or form this season.
03:17I don't think Dan Campbell really knows what the hell he's doing.
03:20But, you know, I could appreciate why Gibbs would get a couple more bucks than Bijan Robinson.
03:25But here's the deal when it comes to Robinson and the Falcons.
03:29This is awesome.
03:30And now it takes that headache away.
03:32Not that I ever thought this was going to linger.
03:35Falcons, if Michael Penix Jr. could win this job, they have a chance to be a really strong team.
03:40Their defense is really strong.
03:42No one talks about it.
03:43Well coached.
03:44Excellent on every level.
03:45And they've got dudes on offense.
03:48Robinson is a stud.
03:50Kyle Pitts is a stud.
03:51Drake London's a stud.
03:53Offensive line is solid.
03:54They bring in Stefanski.
03:56Don't sleep on the Falcons.
03:58If, if Stefanski could get Michael Penix Jr. ready to rock and roll.
04:03I am not a believer in Tua Tonga-Vailoa in any way, shape, or form.
04:07But in a coach's league, you see the impact that coaches make on these teams.
