00:24When you filmed it, did you black out everything and you're like,
00:27I don't even remember what happened?

00:31I remember the first two days because I was meeting all the ladies at the same time.
00:35It was like kind of speed dating.
00:36And it was the scariest thing ever because I'm trying to remember everyone's names
00:40and then their stories.
00:41And it was really difficult.
00:42And how did this show come to be?
00:44Was it pitched to you or did you pitch this idea?
00:46I got the best call from Netflix and they're like,
00:48hey, would you want to get married?
00:49I'm like, yeah.
00:51Why not?
00:51They're like, we don't know, but we'll figure it out.
00:54Do you feel ready to be, like, do you feel ready to get married?
00:57Yeah, I think when I was back in New Zealand and I was watching my dad pass away with all
01:02my siblings there and they had their husbands and kids and all that stuff.
01:06It was like one of my last conversations I had with my dad where I was like,
01:08oh my God, I wish I had this to show you.
01:11So really, like, losing anyone will change anyone's life.
01:15But losing a parent is, like, the hardest thing anyone can go through.
01:17So it really, like, made me reroute my perspective on love.
01:21Wow.
01:21And when rerouting your perspective on love, and of course, people know you also from
01:26Boyfriend Material and social media where you are very, like, fun and goofy and silly.
01:30And I'm sure parts of the show have that.
01:32But because that is such, like, a serious and deep reason for wanting to find your partner,
01:36did you kind of go, was it easy for you with all of the potential suitors to kind of get
01:42deep with them and have those talks?
01:44Yeah, they really made it such a safe space, which was really incredible.
01:47And there was literally nothing off the table as well.
01:49Like, with all the ladies, when we'd sit down, like, all of them were so understanding.
01:53They were so sweet.
01:55Obviously, some of them had seen, like, things online about me.
01:57So a lot of skepticism.
01:58But honestly, they made it the best experience possible.
02:02And I think, I hope everyone walked away with a really good feeling.
02:05What were some of those misconceptions that you had to clear up with the ladies in person?
02:11Like, things that they were concerned about?
02:12Yeah, I think it was, like, the F-boy stuff from previous dating shows.
02:15Because I was playing a bigger character, trying to get more screen time and be a little bit
02:18more crazy.
02:19But that was, like, four years ago.
02:20And I guess I hadn't done anything to kind of redeem myself since.
02:24Like, I've done the work in private time and private life.
02:27But then they're like, oh, that was the last kind of thing that the public has seen
02:31about you.
02:31So, of course, we're going to feel that way.
02:33Right.
02:33So that was the main thing.
02:34Did you ever connect with that F-boy persona?
02:37Or was that kind of strategy on your end?
02:39Like, you were saying, to get more screen time.
02:41I think, like, it's fun.
02:44And it was definitely, like, a big part of, you know, my early 20s and growing up on, like,
02:49reality TV.
02:50So it was hard to not do that.
02:52And especially, it's just, like, life was pretty crazy those times.
02:56So it was definitely a strategy as well as, like, being, like, just doing it, too.
03:00For being a sausage.
03:02And it's funny, too, because I was, like, because I always, I was, like, oh, my God,
03:04he is, like, a little, like, a fun player.
03:06But then when you were on Mormon Wise, and I was, like, this poor boy is so scared.
03:09I just wanted to, like, hug you and protect you.
03:11I was not ready for that.
03:12Oh, I think he's a sweetheart.
03:13I think he really is a sweetheart.
03:13I don't think anyone could handle that situation.
03:16They are the most incredible train wreck.
03:18I love those girls so much.
03:20But, like, wow.
03:21They asked me to come back.
03:22I was, like, oh, guys, I'm all good.

03:25It seemed like a very overwhelming night, because I think it was the night before Taylor
03:29was about to film The Bachelorette.
03:31But then she decided to, like, throw in a little date with you.
03:34A date-ish.
03:35Would we call it a date?
03:36I had no idea what was going on.
03:37I thought I was going to need a booty call.
03:39Oh.
03:39And then I woke in, there's babies and there's cameras, and I was, like, this is.
03:43That's a Mormon booty call.
03:44Yeah, I guess.

03:45I guess that's true.
03:46Yeah, I didn't know what was going to happen.

03:48Do you kind of feel like Taylor, I don't want to say, like, not using you, but do you
03:52kind of feel like maybe she was using you to make Dakota jealous at the time?
03:56Because they were going through a lot.

04:11Like, you were saying, you kind of grew up on reality TV.
04:14Of every show you've ever done, what has been the best experience?
04:17Would you say it's Let's Marry Harry?
04:18I think Let's Marry Harry for sure, just because it was a really stripped-back version.
04:23And from the crew and Netflix and the cast, like, it was just, I guess, a product of love.
04:29Like, everyone on the team, like, the head of casting is, like, one of my best friends.
04:33Like, we spent Christmas together.
04:34So he took it so serious.
04:36Alex Cooper took it so serious.
04:37So it was really hard for me to not dive headfirst and feel, like, the good energy and the love.
04:43How involved in the casting process were you?
04:45Or did you kind of, like, leave it up to your friend to pick these girls?
04:48I had, I guess, the guys, my comments, everyone's like, Harry only wants this.
04:52I was like, I had no idea.
04:53I walked in on the first day.
04:54I actually didn't even know what we were going to do.
04:56I didn't know they had engagement rings.
04:57I don't know what was happening.
04:59As I was walking in, they're like, this is what you're about to walk into and just say what you
05:02want to say.
05:02And I was like, oh, okay, cool.
05:04I love that.
05:04And for fans of dating shows, what can we expect?
05:09Like, what can they expect?
05:09Like, the classic, like, do you go on a lot of, like, crazy dates with people and different things?
05:13Like, what is sort of the format?
05:14Oh, my God.
05:15I just saw a video of a clip that they want me to post.
05:17I'm, like, spitting in someone's mouth.
05:19I was like, what's happening?
05:20Okay.
05:21You did it.
05:22So you tell us what's happening.

05:44My friend did it and he said you should try it.
05:46But it, like, just makes it hang a little longer and heavier.

05:51But it made me feel a little bit more confident, you know?

05:55And was there any, because to film, you're not a stranger to filming a dating show, but
06:00because this one is really focused on you and everyone.
06:02You're like, oh, a lot of eyes on me.
06:03Did you do anything a little bit different to make you feel more confident going into
06:06this filming?
06:07Honestly, I was reading a lot of self-help books because I was really scared.
06:10I love.
06:11Yeah, yeah.
06:11I was reading books just to make sure that, like, trying to take myself out of it and
06:15look at myself in a third person.
06:16It's like, I was reading this book called He's Scared, She's Scared.
06:18And basically it's about self-sabotage.
06:20So I was trying to figure out if I was doing that and if I was not being the best
06:25version of
06:25myself and a lot of therapy because I really didn't want to waste anyone's time.
06:29So yeah, it was a lot.
06:30Did you feel like after reading that book that you kind of did have traits of being a
06:34self-sabotager?
06:35Yeah, for sure.
06:36I think early on and early on in my dating life, there was definitely a lot of mistakes
06:41that I made.
06:42But it was good because it made me grow.
06:44So it was the best thing for me.
06:45And forced me to be like, okay, like I'm seeing all these people talk about me and
06:48being not very nice, but like maybe it's deserving.
06:50So let's figure it out.
06:52How do you feel like your outlook on love and your relationship with dating has evolved
06:56over the years?
06:57You know, what would, what would like too hot to handle?
06:59Harry Jossie think of the way that you approach love these days.
07:02He'd probably be embarrassed to be honest.
07:04It's like, I was so crazy back then.
07:06I didn't care about anything.
07:07Right.
07:07And now I'm like, I just, I just want my person and I just want to have my friends and
07:12then
07:12live life.
07:13So, yeah.
07:14And then obviously like this was filmed months and months and months ago.
07:17Hopefully you found the girl you want to marry.
07:20What is it like living in the in-between space, being unable to kind of be with that person
07:27or see that person because you live such a public life.
07:30Everyone's always kind of like taking pictures of you when you're out and about.
07:32Demois right there around the corner at every turn.
07:35So what, what has that been like?
07:37How have you been handling that emotionally?
07:39Um, it's, it was, it's really testing to be honest.
07:41Like it's nice to have stuff in private and to be like, okay, we're forced to keep this
07:45in private, but it is really difficult.
07:48Like I really don't recommend it.
07:49So you guys are thinking about it.
07:51I also feel it has to be hard too, because then even though some people could think or assume
07:58that you are with someone, other people might think you are more fair game to reach out
08:02to and try to flirt with or DM and everything like that.
08:05Like, has that been, or you could say, would that be a difficult in-between?
08:10Honestly, no, because it's kind of on you, right?
08:13It's kind of like how much do you respect and trust your partner?
08:15Like I've been in that situation in the past where I've been in a relationship and then
08:18just leaned into that because I'm like, oh, this feels nice.
08:20And maybe it's obviously the wrong thing to do.
08:23But I've realized like, I just always act like it is my person in the room with me.
08:28And like, let's just move with respect and trust.
08:31Because that's the main thing.
08:32And once that's gone, you're cooked.
08:33Right.
08:34Yeah, totally.
08:34I mean, when it comes to casting, do you feel like they nailed it?
08:37Like the group of girls that you had to choose from?
08:39Like, were you confident that?
08:41Oh, wait, were there some wild cards in there?
08:44Oh no, why are we laughing?
08:46No, there was, look, there was a few, obviously it's a TV show.
08:49So some of them obviously just wanted a bit of attention and that's all good.
08:54Oh, I can't wait to meet them.
08:55Yeah.
08:55I'm sure they would jump to come in here.
08:57Like they'll do any press.
08:59But there was a few that were there for that, but that's fully fine.
09:01Cause I get it.
09:02Like two things can be true.
09:03Like you can be there to potentially, you know, become an influencer or reality star or find
09:07your guy.
09:08Right.
09:08You know?
09:09Well, also I feel those people are kind of needed and they serve a purpose, not just as like kind
09:13of entertainment, but you can see them compared to the people that are more in it for a sincere
09:19reason.
09:19And you're like, okay, I love that about you because you're not like that.
09:22Easy eliminations right away.
09:24Have you, I mean, before you were on dating shows, did you watch dating shows?
09:29Did you consume that kind of reality television?
09:31Geordie Shaw.
09:32I know you guys have Jersey Shaw, but Geordie Shaw, I would watch that and I'd be like,
09:36I have to do this.
09:37Oh my God.
09:37That's so funny.
09:38So you kind of always knew this was the life for you.
09:40Oh, that's just crazy.
09:41It's like funny.
09:42I just love that.
09:43Well, I recently binged a show that's in a way, maybe like, let's marry Harry.
09:47It's called rock of love.
09:48Have you ever heard of it?
09:49I just, I just watched it for the first time ever.
09:51It's a show from like 2006, 2007 where everyone was, I was alive.
09:56I know you were watching MTV.
09:59You were like five years old, but every, every girl, they were competing for the heart of
10:04Brett Michaels, the lead singer of poison.
10:06And, um, it was just a wild, wild time.
10:09And a lot of them.
10:10I've been hearing him talk about this for two months straight.
10:11The show's 20 years old.
10:12It's so good watching with virgin eyes.
10:14I highly recommend, but you know, a big theme there because Brett Michaels is this famous
10:19rock star.
10:19A lot of people were kind of like just groupies or like they were enamored by the idea, the
10:24concept of dating a rock star and being a part of that lifestyle, which I would imagine
10:28is kind of like the, the same situation for you.
10:30Not as cool as Brett Michaels or a rock star.
10:32But I mean, I would say you might be cooler and you're definitely a lot hotter, but people
10:38probably, you know, figuring out who's there for the right reasons.
10:41And you said you could figure that out and you're actually fine with some of them being
10:44there for the wrong reasons.
10:45But like, what's kind of your process when it comes to deciphering if someone is there
10:50to authentically want to develop a relationship with you or if they're there just for camera
10:53time?
10:53Honestly, it was pretty lucky that my friends and my ex were watching the whole thing.
10:57So they could be like, Hey, we can, we're seeing what they're saying behind the scenes
11:01and like, what's going on?
11:03But like early on, there was one girl like just basically told me to my face and I was
11:07like, Oh, just lie to me a little bit.
11:09Like if you were like, let's milk this, you'll be good.
11:12Yeah.
11:13Like lie.
11:13You're like trying to give her tips.
11:15I love this.
11:15Just lie to me.

11:16I've had some friends that say that to their partners and it never works well, but yeah.

11:31Cause one, one of the contestants on Rock of Love lied about her age.

11:35She said she was 32 and then her dad came on the scene and told Brett, Oh, my daughter's
11:40actually 37, but she still won.
11:42Wow.
11:42Even though she lied straight to Brett Michael's face.
11:44Did anyone else lie to you and you caught them in lies?
11:46Oh, just me lying.

11:48That's nice.
11:49Wait, you were saying too that the show kind of felt maybe a little still stressful, but
11:54a little more manageable because you had your confidence with them.

11:58Did you know, like when you were doing a dating show, were you like, this is kind of
12:02crucial and helpful?
12:03Like, were they more helpful than hurtful?
12:05Anything like that?

12:06I think Netflix was just like, this guy can't make a good decision to save himself.
12:10Like, he doesn't know what he's going to make for breakfast.
12:11So let's just, let's just throw these people in there to guide him.

12:15So thank God that they were there to help.

12:18A major trope on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette is the lead oftentimes falls in love with
12:24more than one contestant.
12:25And then we get down to the wire and it's like, oh my God, who do I choose?
12:27Because I love more than one person.
12:28And I told more than one person that I love them.
12:30Was that a struggle that you experienced?
12:32Yeah.

12:34Again, might I recommend Utah?
12:37Honestly, I might have to go.

12:39That was really tough towards the end.

12:43I was really, it was really struggling, but it was also even more difficult because we
12:47went back to New Zealand where I just watched my, like, it was a year since my dad had passed
12:50and the first time seeing my family since that happened.
12:53And I was like, oh my God, I just realized he's actually gone.
12:56And then I have these two incredible ladies who I'm in love with.
12:59Like, what do I do?
13:00It was like, I was doing backflips.
13:02I couldn't sleep.
13:02When you, when you brought, without giving too much away, when you brought the ladies
13:06who made it that far back home, were you kind of shocked of your family's thoughts on them?
13:10You know what I mean?
13:11Were you?
13:11Oh, they were annoying because they just like, couldn't make a decision either.
13:14I was like, guys, I don't, I'm not, I shouldn't make the decision, but I can't.
13:17Like, you figure it out.
13:18I love how indecisive you all are.
13:19Yeah, I mean, because I was like, they're both perfect.
13:22I could go either way.
13:23Like, I don't know what to do.
13:24But my family was just like, they met one and like, this is awesome.
13:27And they met the other one, like, this is great.

13:32And the worst part about this experience too, is you have to break hearts along the way.
13:35And I feel like that's really not your bag.

13:44He's a heartbreaker.

14:08So that was the hardest thing about the whole process.
14:10And I was actually legitimately losing sleep over it.

14:21and you guys have been able to maintain a friendship?

17:15with my coach and I box in the afternoon.

17:34who has a good sense of humor, has goals and is independent.

17:56So it was, it was a very, very interesting dynamic, but honestly, like it's all hard,

26:11But basically, because it was growing up in Australia, it just developed over the last
26:1520 years or so.
26:16So it made me go, oh my God, I need to figure out something that is safe and that is
26:20good
26:20for me and good for my people.
26:22So yeah.

26:23So it has lots of SPF.

26:26Like that's apparently it takes forever.
26:28It's taken us like two years.

26:29So basically what we have now is a resilience serum and then we have a rescue and repair

26:35So if you're in the sun, it's going to protect your skin barrier.
26:38It has lime caviar in it, which is if you look it up, it's very fancy and really cool.
26:42I don't know what that is.
26:43It's basically a lime, but you open it up and it looks like little caviar.
26:46It's like, it's packed with all this good stuff, but native to Australia.
26:49And there's golden seaweed, which is in this, I can go on, but it's in this intertidal zone
26:54in Australia where it hits with all these different UV layers.
26:56It just helps protect.
