00:05The singer and actress took a moment during her Eternal Sunshine tour stop Monday night
00:09in Chicago to, quote, clear the air about a few things. She told the crowd,
00:14sometimes when a story comes out that's not directly from me, things can get a little
00:18blown out of proportion. So I just wanted to speak to my fans directly tonight because I
00:22love you so much. On Sunday, the Hollywood Reporter learned that Grande will be, quote,
00:27taking a step back from visibility after her tour concludes on September 1st.
00:31She told fans Monday night,
00:33The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing.
00:37It was something that I have decided, a plan that I had quietly made a long time ago.
00:41It was a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place.
00:45Grande continued,
00:46I heard that my fans were worried that negativity was ruining things for me,
00:49but I just have to say that could not be more the far opposite. This is not what that is,
00:53and I just want to be very, very clear. Multiple things can be true at the same time.
00:58Boundaries need to be set. Human beings can need a break sometimes. And also,
01:02this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.
