00:00The political and personal drama surrounding Ohio Congressman Max Miller has taken another turn.
00:04The Republican lawmaker has now released hours of secretly recorded audio conversations with his ex-wife, Emily Moreno,
00:11in an attempt to push back against her abuse allegations.
00:14But some of the recordings appear to support parts of her account.
00:19Here's a portion of one exchange about an incident where Emily says Miller poured hot water on her.
00:23You poured steaming hot water on me and you've also, you have a better, it saved me emotionally abusive.
00:30And I have photos of my, me, that my mom took at my house with me with scars on my
00:35neck.
00:35And you've actually seen those photos.
00:37What are you talking about? That wasn't from me.
00:40And you know that wasn't from me.
00:42The water incident, which I have the text messages from that we have, even following up after that,
00:47I never thought that that hurt you and you know that.
00:54Miller goes on to repeat that he never thought it had hurt her and it, quote, wasn't done with intent.
01:00The audio recordings also include Moreno's accusations about Miller using drugs,
01:04as well as the circumstances surrounding the custody of their two-year-old daughter,
01:08who Moreno has said suffered a broken collarbone, potentially at the hands of Miller.
01:13The embattled congressman continues to deny the broader allegations that he physically abused his ex-wife or their daughter.
01:18But the release of the recordings comes as pressure continues to build.
01:22Miller remains in the race for re-election in the upcoming midterms.
01:26And the timing here is pivotal.
01:27The deadline to withdraw his name from the ballot is this week.
