00:14I'm so excited. I'm here at TimeGate.
00:21I hear that there's some really attractive game developers.
00:25So, I mean, I'm single. I'm not going to lie to you about that.
00:33I don't really care what kind of car they drive or what their house is or anything, but I think
00:38that it's important that somebody's intelligent and does something creative with their life.
00:42And so, anyway, let's go see what they're up to, which is exciting.
00:47Oh, look at this. They look really busy. This, I think, is going to be used in the actual game
00:53of prejudice.
00:53What's going on for you?
00:55I'm here to... You're supposed to stay back there. They have to work right now.
01:01I'm here to interview these... I...
01:08Yeah. How do my boobs look?
01:11Hello, everyone. I'm here with Keith Jerkowski. He's the lead programmer.
01:15The lead game designer.
01:16Whoa, shut up.
01:17What was your goal when designing the game?
01:19When we started working on prejudice, it was really exciting for us because we got to do a lot of
01:24things that we had wanted to do in the first place.
01:27We looked at all of these different avenues for community feedback that we have.
01:31We talked to people that we work with that play the game. We read message boards and saw what players
01:35posted.
01:36We looked at kind of a really good source of player feedback that players don't realize they're giving us often
01:41is metrics.
01:43So we look at how people select weapons, what loadouts they use, what types of choices they make in the
01:49game, and then we use that to adjust and balance the game later on.
01:53So some of the areas that we've focused on improving, a lot of it comes down to controls and movement,
02:00changing up the timings on how fast the characters move,
02:03how the jetpack works, what its flight mechanics are, subtle tweaks to those, how players aim, little changes to how
02:11the accuracy mechanic works.
02:13What are the exciting new features?
02:16So kind of an overall summary of a lot of the new features that we've got in prejudice.
02:19We've got the new updated swarm mode, which is going to be a total blast.
02:23We've got the new vehicle, the bike, which is this super fast ground vehicle.
02:28You can kind of go into the speed boost with it and run over people.
02:31It can actually jump into the air too, and you can squish people with it.
02:35We've got a whole new interface. Some people who may have seen some of the gameplay tropes completely revamped the
02:41interface from the ground up.
02:42It looks awesome. We've added a new weapon called the pulse cannon.
02:45When you first start the game, the initial variant you have is basically fires charge rounds, and you can charge
02:51up the pulse cannon.
02:52It holds a charge for a couple of seconds, and then you can fire it out.
02:54It really blows people sort of across the screen.
02:57That's kind of what we wanted to get was this kind of like fun little weapon that you could really
03:00use to just send opponents flying if you charge it up to full duration.
03:03We put in a lot of weapon variants. So in the initial, in the first game, Section 8, we had
03:09I think six basic weapons.
03:11In Prejudice, we have over 20 variations. So I mean, we have like a total of over 40 different weapon
03:16and equipment variants.
03:18On top of that, we've also done this entire elaborate new campaign.
03:21This whole amazing story that covers the back history behind the arm of Orion and Section 8, and really explains
03:27the universe of our game.
03:28What would you say is my best feature?
03:33What is this video going to be rated? And I will enter appropriately.
03:40We've got several great new environments. We've seen some of these in our screenshots.
03:44We've got this awesome Arctic planet that you may have seen a few shots from in this sort of desolate
03:49volcanic world.
03:50And there's a couple of key battles in the campaign and in multiplayer that take place in these whole new
03:55worlds.
03:56We've included a couple of new game modes in the game that I am pretty happy with.
04:01Swarm is probably my favorite game mode.
04:03Basically a four player co-op game mode where you defend a single control point and waves attacking armed soldiers
04:12try to capture the control point.
04:14And you have to use a lot of teamwork and strategy to defend that control point against this huge overwhelming
04:18horde.
04:19Is there a dating mode?
04:21No, unfortunately there's no dating mode.
04:22Hi everyone.
04:24Hi.
04:25Is anyone over here single?
04:29Who are you over here in the corner?
04:30David.
04:31Hey David, how's it going? What do you do here?
04:33I'm a programmer.
04:36Do you like blondes?
04:39Yes, I like some blondes.
04:41His wife's a blonde.
04:43What do you do over here?
04:45He's playing video games.
04:46Yep, that's what I do.
04:47At the office.
04:49What kind of, um, are you driving a nice car these days or?
04:53I'm pretty good.
04:54Joy.
04:55What?
04:55I'm sorry.
04:56What did we talk about?
04:57I was just trying to figure out what everybody does at your company.
05:00Right?
05:00What do you do?
05:01Um.
05:02Programming.
05:03See?
05:04He's a computer programmer, and he's obviously a programmer.
05:06And, uh, we're talking about this.
05:09Right here.
05:09This is prejudice.
05:10This is what we're doing right here.
05:12I think she's prejudice.
05:14Again, look at me.
05:18I'm here with Robert.
05:20Who are?
05:22He's awesome.
05:23I love it.
05:24This is all of the art in prejudice.
05:26That's what I'm going to assume.
05:28Who is single?
