00:10I'm in Comic-Con line, Twilight, Breaking Dawn panel, three days early.
00:16Die-hard fans began lining up to be among the first to enter the 6,500 person Hall H.
00:22I want to see something, I want to be first in line, and I want the best people.
00:25We're the front of the line!
00:27Hopefully we'll see famous people.
00:29I know, right?
00:29I like Robert Pattinson, so...
00:32Taylor Lautner.
00:33It's gonna be loud.
00:34It's Twilight.
00:36We're prone to yelling.
00:38Little did they know, a surprise was in store for them.
00:48It's dawn.
00:49We're at Comic-Con.
00:50We're gonna go cause a ruckus.
00:54We are very excited.
00:59They're extremely dedicated.

01:14I saw Ashley actually coming from over there, and I'm like, oh my God, it's Ashley Green.

02:05I mean, the first time I saw the big crowds, that was, that was Comic-Con like 2008.
02:10Why don't we just jump right into what these fans really want to know, and what was it
02:14like to shoot the wedding?
02:18When I got to set and I saw everybody sitting in the pews, and it was just so beautiful.
02:26No measure of time with you would be long enough.
02:30But we'll start with forever.

03:18That means everything, because we wouldn't be here if they weren't doing that, so, no,
03:22I mean, we literally, we have the most passionate fans in the world, and I mean, I thank them
03:26for everything, and we would not be promoting movie number four right now if it wasn't for
03:31them.
03:32They're absolutely everything to us.
03:47I feel like I've kind of seen it all, I mean, it feels like they were like that since the
03:52first one, and just the fact that it's consistent, and the same people who saw with the first one
03:56who waited out for the first one still come back, and then additional people come, and
04:00it's, I mean, it's nice, I'm still amazed at the longevity of it.
04:04It's not just Comic-Con?
04:06It's not just Comic-Con, no.
04:07But Comic-Con was where it all started as well, though.
04:09I mean, the first time I saw the big crowds, that was, that was Comic-Con in 2008.
04:13And we had cast both the seats in New labor and the first two.
04:17We have to make it like the scene and we love the phones.
04:18We're not doing it.
04:18And we're doing that really much.

04:35Well, I can't, I can't say that it's um, it is a shock, but I'm used to that shock because
04:41It's always been, from day one, sort of surprising to see the numbers and just, you know, the enthusiasm and
04:46passion for what we're into.
04:49And it's always weird to see that in mass numbers for something that feels so personal.
04:54And it's cool that it's lasted so long.
04:56There's always feelings like, oh, well, I mean, fourth year in a row.
04:59Who knows if people still care?
05:00And then you have, like, the veteran fans that don't want to seem like they're too crazy.
05:04And it's like, well, I hope they're still going to be crazy.
05:07You know what I mean?
05:08And I'm sure that they will be.
05:12So you all are here for a movie based on the series of Twilight books.
05:16Is that correct?
05:19All right.
05:20I just want to make sure of that.
05:21So before we can get to that, as some of you, oh, actually, how many of you were here last
05:25year?

05:59My name is Eric Morrow.
06:00I'm the editor-in-chief of IGN Movies.
06:02And I'd like to welcome you to the Comic-Con panel for the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, Part 1.
06:12So I heard that there was a nice little surprise early this morning for the folks in line.
06:16Did that get you nice and pumped up?
06:18Excellent.
06:20There's no way that I could follow that surprise up.
06:23So I think we're just going to get right to it.
06:26And we'd like to offer you all an exclusive first look at the film.
06:32So before we do that, let me introduce the director of the film, Mr. Bill Condon.
06:51All right.
06:52Yep.
06:55So Bill, I want to kick things off with you.
06:59You're new to the project.
07:00So I'd love to have you talk to the folks a little bit about how you got involved with
07:04Twilight.
07:05Sure.
07:05It's like the very nice folks at Summit, Eric Fie, they sent me the novel and the early
07:11outline they had.
07:12And I loved it.
07:14I thought it was like, it's such a lucky thing for a director because in a way, it's all third
07:19act.
07:20You know, it's all the other movies have been leading up to this thing where an amazing
07:23amount of stuff happens.
07:25I thought it could be incredibly cinematic.
07:28It's also, I started out in horror movies and Breaking Dawn 1, the movie that comes out
07:33for, it is like in the second half, it turns into like a really cool horror movie.
07:38Yeah.
07:38And did you really immerse yourself in this world?
07:41Totally.
07:42Yes, absolutely.
07:43You know, just like, as I said, I like quickly imprinted on the material.
07:49Excellent.
07:50Excellent.
07:51Well, how about we bring some folks out to join you up here.

08:47So Christa, why don't we just jump right into what these fans really want to know, and what was it
08:53like to shoot the wedding?
08:58I had been ramping up to shoot that scene for four years, something like that. Nothing, give or take.
09:07And they also put it right at the end of the entire filming, so six months of standing on my
09:11toes waiting for the most important part of the whole thing in my mind to happen.
09:16And when I got to set, I was just as sort of nervous and terrified as I expected myself to
09:23be. Sorry.
09:29Anyway, so when I got to set and I saw everybody sitting in the pews, and it was just so
09:35beautiful.
09:36And I had to go get locked away in a room for the rest of the day.
09:42At that point, I had to be locked into my dress, and I had to sort of protect it.
09:45And it was also like Secret Service-style crazy security.
09:52So once I was locked into the dress, I was in wedding mode.
09:57Before that, I was actually able to have that experience that you want to have that's sort of more personal
10:00and outside of it,
10:01and then sort of go into it for the rest of the day and just be there for the rest
10:05of the day.
10:06And I ended up being much more relaxed than I thought I was going to be.
10:08It was like, you know, terrified, and then, whew, fun.
10:12This is actually sort of my day.
10:14It sounds so lame, I know, but, yeah.
